Most Wanted VC & Legacy Collection Repacks

Image
Repacks are a way of life for Star Wars collectors. Black Series, VC, heck I wouldn't be surprised if Mission Fleet soon gets repacks (repack Mando Luke for ROTJ, without the cloak...back to the topic!). Instead of going through old VC figures that are super expensive on the secondary market, I will include some Legacy Collection figures that would make great additions to the VC, and some slight changes that could make a repack become an all new figure. Hasbro has said they still have molds from Legacy Collection figures, so no excuses, these COULD all get made! I have 10 figures on this list and will countdown from 10 down to my top choice. There are some other figures I wouldn't mind seeing but these figures should all be mainline releases, but I'll do a list on fan channel repacks later. So without further delay, here we go! 10. Malakili, Rancor Keeper. This LC era figure would knock off an Original 96 checklist and really isn't a figure that needs to be improved

VC Stndard Release & Deluxe Ahsoka Tano (Corvus)

Image
M y 1st VC review of 2023! Now, Ahsoka Tano is my 2nd favorite character behind Luke Skywalker, and I enjoyed seeing her character developed through Clone Wars, Rebels and The Mandalorian. The latter is what version of Ahsoka I am covering here, both her standard release and her deluxe release. Now I had intended to do this review MUCH earlier but the retail outlet that had the deluxe figure as an exclusive (Wal-Mart) sent me delay notice after delay notice only to cancel it outright. Thanks to Entertainment Earth, I was able to get the Deluxe Ahsoka but also the Cloud City Guards (decent figures actually) and the ROTJ Imperial Gunner (which looks like I got a defective one).  Sadly, my Deluxe Ahsoka didn't arrive without a problem, but I'm not too worried about it. Why? Read on to find out why if you only get 1 VC Ahsoka figure, make sure it's this one!! Both the standard and deluxe Ahsoka's sport the same 17 POA as they are the same figure. Like the Morak Boba Fett,

Where are the Toy Commercials?

Every now and then, I like to give a little rant about where collecting action figures goes from here. I have been a fan of former Mattel/Jakks Pacific toy line manager Scott Neitlich's YouTube channel Spector Creative, and I disagree with his views on some points. For instance his recent video about Masters of the Universe Origins and Masterverse toy lines ending in April. Now, could it be true? Possibly, I could see Target and Wal-Mart shrinking their aisle presence, in some ways that's happened. I do enjoy MOTU Origins as much as I enjoy the Star Wars Vintage Collection. If MOTU Origins were to vanish, it would be a sad thing, as like the Star Wars VC they have faithfully stuck to the old style card from the 1980's. It's a nostalgia trip! Now whether Scott is right about the line going dead, there is one major thing he is right about in all his videos: kids determine the success or failure of a toy line. And the bottom line is, kids aren't playing with action f

Fan Fiction Short Story: Attachments

My attempt at a quick fan fiction. Fits into my Star Wars alternate universe. I don't own the characters and am just using them for entertainment purposes. Some notes as I begin this story: -Takes place 5 plus years after Endor (after The Rescue and during The Book of Boba Fett) -Han & Leia only recently married, and have no child yet. -Luke has other students but they don't appear here and are not yet at his Temple -The New Republic & Empire are still at war, although the battles have cooled now. However with Gideon's capture a couple factions are planning to attack the NR. -The Knights of Ren have taken over the Black Sun & Black Nebula criminal syndicates. Ren helps Bib Fortuna take over not only Jabba's cartel but the entire Hutt cartel as well. So here, Boba Fett is in Ren's crosshairs after offing Bib. -Events that happen in The Mandalorian are in this Canon. Dramatis Personae Luke Skywalker-Jedi Knight, human male Ahoska Tano-former Jedi

Han Solo in Carbonite Kenner POTF Review

Image
"This is the end....my only friend, the end!" Haunting lyrics, but this is the end of my POTF reviews, as I will lead into the Kenner Return of the Jedi figures as the 40th anniversary of that film commences. Seeing the pictures, you can tell Kenner just had difficulty capturing Harrison Ford's likeness for their Star Wars line. They even had difficulty when they did Indiana Jones, although honestly it looks like they used Bespin Han to make Indy (not pictured). This figure was one of the last ones released in the Kenner era, around 1985. He can pass as both an Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi version since we all know how Han became a Carbonite wall decoration in Jabba the Hutt's Palace. Seriously he held that room together! (Inserted a gratuitous Family Guy joke for the sake of it!) You would have thought by 1985 they would get something right, but honestly they came close to getting a near likeness of Harrison Ford, with one massive issue: his neck! Whi

Kenner POTF Ewoks

Image
For many Star Wars fans, Ewoks are either you live them, or you hate them. Personally, I love them. They are fuzzy little teddy bears that have access to sharp objects like spears, knives and arrows and can even go joy riding on Speeder Bikes! They even got an animated show in 1985, plus 2 movies, shown on TV in the US but were actually in theaters in some European countries. Under the pictures I'll give a small bio, and where they are in ROTJ. Now, all figures have 5 POA. The heads do turn even with the head dresses. They can all hold their spears, bows, etc. Basically these figures share the same sculpt but are painted different colors to set them apart, which is one of the reasons why this is a 4 part review. But the sculpt detail stands out. The fur, clothing and accessories are all well sculpted, even by todays standards. Of course these figures are also the same as earlier Ewoks Chief Chirpa and Logray, just different paint and accessories. Lumat  strangely enough comes wit

VC Top 25 Requests

Around this time of year, fan sites get a start on their own version of "March Madness". For those not familiar with March Madness it refers to men's college basketball and the 68 team NCAA Tournament where upsets are almost common place. But I'm not here to explain why you need to always take the 12 seed over a 5 seed in your tournament brackets. I'm here to talk Vintage Collection! And yes, there are some popular Star Wars characters that have YET to be made into VC figures. The trick with these fan site most wanted polls is these figures are in order of preference. My top choice may come as a surprise to many. I'll only stick to 10, so here are my 10 most wanted with 10 being my lowest and 1 being my highest choice. So, find out who is on my most wanted list, take into account some of these have never had VC figures (from 2010-2012 & 2018-present) or have had modern, definitive updates. Place your votes with the TVC people on Instagram, or on collecti
