St Tammany Collector's Convention Haul 2026

Originally I had no plan to make a post until next weekend, but I didn't want a month long break from the page, so I'll just be doing a quick blog post. Yesterday I attended the St Tammany Collector's Convention in Mandeville, Louisiana. It's a small, but growing convention in the area and is known for finding good deals on some new or older figures, comics or other collectibles. I had a small budget of $200, and I am proud to say I came in under budget! So for what I found Star Wars, and non Star Wars related, read on!

1. MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection King Randor & Queen Marlena

I missed out on the preorder for Marlena a while back, and while Randor was at the only Wally World that had a mid aisle collectors section, Marlena was never there. This haul coat me the most at $70. I really needed a King Hiss as mine suffered a snapped knee joint, and no luck on finding one. Or any OS Star Trek Playmates figures. But I'm happy I got these 2. Although I may use both for customs. I have a spare WWE Eternia Chyna that I may do a head swap with Marlena and use Randor as a King Miro (Randor's father) and the Chyna head on Marlena's buck to be his mother. But I do like the sword Randor comes with. I hope they fit into my MOTU Origins collection.

2. GI Joe Retaliation Ultimate Flint

I like 1:18 scale Joe's because they make great custom fodder. And normally, there are a couple vendors who have a bunch to sell. Not so much this time. But I found one who had some to sell, and as I've been looking for a movie Flint to use as a custom, I hit paydirt. The $25 price was about the average I had seen. He's got a working parachute, plus enough extra weapons to use for my spare 1:18 Joe's and Cobra's. This will be a future custom, maybe an Inquisitor or possibly a Rebel Commando. At this point, nothing is set in stone.

3. Imperial Probe Droid

He cost $10. He's got some snow weathering on it, so I can only presume he came from a Hoth adventure set. His limbs are intact and he's missing his rocket/missile but is in great overall shape.

4. Bo Shek

Marked for $20, but I nabbed him for $5. I needed a spare after I lost his blaster. I'm gluing the gun into the holster this time.

5. Senate/Emperor's Royal Guard

This was the best picture I could get. He's a potential custom for either Carnor Jax or Kir Kanos. His lower body is similar to the Kir/Carnor comic pack, so I hope to at least make him Carnor. I have the Kir, still. If I can't use it as a custom, I have a figure for the Prequel bin. Win/win either way, especially for only $5.

6. Garindan and Imperial Knights

The Saga Collection Garindan isn't a bad figure, and this one can be in the Cantina, along with my SC Hammerhead. He came with the wrong weapon and no comlink, so he was a steal for $10. The Imperial Knights from the Legacy Comics were interesting, and despite having the old style swivel hips are still decent figures. But now I finally have extras, so I can make more customs, and I've always wanted to paint one of these guys in all black, and make him a Clone Palpy or a Brakiss from Legends. The red headed figure was from the model used as a reference for Clone Palpy for Dark Empire back in the day. Someone attempted to paint the head of the brown haired one black. These 2 only cost me $20.

VINTAGE COLLECTION HAUL

This only cost me $40. Baylan was the cheap one at $10, and I like having another potential custom as the buck is really good. The IG-12 and Commando jetpack Mando were $15 each. So I had $15 leftover which can go to me getting gas. The IG-12 I got because I haven't seen it in person except at Gamestop and there it's $35. I also got it because it has an Anzellan, who I'm making Babu Frik (the only highlight of Episode 9, IMO) and a Grogu that has slightly articulated arms. As for the figure, I need to dunk it in just boiled water as the elbow joints were too tight. Unlike the Sixer version, this one comes with a blaster rifle. I won't use it with Grogu but with the Anzellan instead. But I almost lost Grogu when he fell on my floor so I need to keep him in a small bag. Since I got the Deluxe Mando/Grogu from the movie figures last night, and it's basically the same figure as the one with the Commando jetpack. But he has barbell hips, and I'll cover him when I do my review of the Deluxe Mando/Grogu with a couple surprises in the review, as it's a chance to cover some things I haven't had the time to properly review.

But it creates another issue: what to do with the older Mandalorian figures? Well, it's a chance to do some customs. You remember Kir Kanos? Well his other identity was as a bounty hunter named Kenix Kil. While Kenix wasn't a Mandalorian, it would have been kinda cool if Kir Kanos found a set of Mandalorian armor and used it to be a bounty hunter, or mercenary at large. As for the rest, well, I'll see.

That's all I got! Thanks for reading! Please share this link on your social media accounts so I can get more readers, especially if you're on Facebook or Instagram! A special thanks to Chris and Nomad at BanthaSkull for allowing me to post this in the comments section.
