VC HasLab Greedo Review

A somewhat controversial decision by Hasbro to put Greedo into the Cantina HasLab was the one thing I found to be questioned about the campaign. Why? Because he's an Original 96er. However he's not on the classic Kenner style card image. So there's that. But, he is quite an amazing figures, and the first one from the HasLab that I opened. And as I've hinted, he's one of the best figures of 2025. So, find out why I have high praise for this figure, and how he compares to his POTF2 version which had some extra articulation.

Greedo should look familiar. If you collect the Black Series, he was one of the first figures released in that line, and he had a bonus feature: a holster. Here's how he looked:

Image from Galactic Figures. In the movie, Greedo didn't have a holster. His Sixer figure has one, as does his VC version. While he isn't exactly onscreen accurate, it doesn't take away from my enjoyment of this figure. This was the first figure I opened from the HasLab, and admittedly it's my favorite one!

Greedo sports the standard 17 POA that new VC figures have. At least for now, anyway. I had no problem with any of his joints, and was thankful I didn't have to put him in just boiled water to loosen any joints. Moving him around is easy. If there is a knock, he isn't well balanced. So he'll need to be displayed on a stand if you don't have him seated. But can he sit down?! I'll let you judge for yourself later on.

The paint apps on Greedo are very well done. His skin tone and eyes can often be hard to do. Here, Hasbro did a wonderful job. His outfit isn't exactly difficult to paint, but it's well done. His vest is plastic, and no I haven't attempted to remove it and if it could come off, I wouldn't want to attempt it. I'm very pleased with the head sculpt, and it's one of the best ones done in 2025 for the VC.

Greedo only comes with 2 accessories: a cup that appears to be personalized and a small blaster. He can best hold them in his right hand, I made no attempt to place any in his left hand, especially the cup, as it's small and I felt it would fall and I'd never find it again. His blaster appears to stay in his holster and doesn't fall out. But since Greedo is supposed to sit down, how does he look, and more importantly: can he?!

He isn't terrible sitting down. In the top photo above you see how he looks head on. But on the sides, he needs some work. He fits adequately, not perfectly. But how does he compare to his POTF2 counterpart in the chair?

While the POTF2 Han is an excellent fit, the POTF2 Greedo is a bit off. However, when it comes to being in the Cantina booth, I am going with the POTF2 versions. But with that being said, the VC Greedo will be someone standing at the bar, or just causing trouble. Plus he looks good interacting with some other Cantina patrons, as you'll see below.

Now, I think Greedo will get a standard release someday. Heck, he could even be a part of that rumored Cantina 4 pack! While I disagree putting an Original 96er in a HasLab, I can't deny that he isn't a good figure. For my Best VC Figures of 2025, Greedo is definitely on my list. His paint apps, sculpt, and ease of articulation makes him an excellent figure. Now you can get a Kenner color Greedo in the cardboard Cantina Adventure Playset, but most will want this version instead since he's mostly screen accurate. If you want this figure and didn't back the Cantina your only hope is eBay, or maybe Tunghori. I used to like Tunghori but he isn't exactly good on customer service, so be advised there. Heck what happened wasn't really his fault, he just never got back to me. Anyway, if you can find this version of Greedo, and you can afford it, get it! But also realize he's likely to come on his Vintage Kenner card sometime in the near future. Hopefully.
