Disney Era VC Wish List.

Before I begin this post, I want to clarify a few things. First, 75% of Disney Star Wars is garbage in my opinion. The only good things have been Rebels, Rogue One, both seasons of Andor, and the 1st 2 seasons of The Mandalorian. So the first question someone will ask me is "Why don't you come up with something better than what Disney has done?!" I did. I'll post the link to it at the end of this post. And the next question someone will ask: "If you hate Disney Star Wars so much, why are you making an action figure wish list for it?!" Another question I can easily answer. From a design standpoint, there are some great potential action figures that deserve to be made. And while I'm not a fan of the source materials for the most part, I am not arrogant enough to believe there aren't fans of those projects. There are. Will they also buy figures? That's still up for debate. So, a question posed to the Hasbro team at Star Wars Celebration by Jason, aka MAKMCSWF about getting more Sequel Trilogy figures is the inspiration for this blog post.

Originally, I wrote a very long post about everything I'd want from the Disney Sequel Trilogy....and it was a lot. Nearly 30 figures, vehicles, you name it, it was in there. But, it didn't cover all the bases. What about Andor? Rogue One? The Mandalorian? And I cringe as I type this....The Acolyte?! They deserve to get figures as well. And the Disney Canon comics? That's going to be another post as I need to get visuals. That will be at a later date.

I'm all about balance. And to dispel another rumor: I'm not the Fire KK Disqus commentor. But I do like the Jedi image above, I don't know who the artist is (I know his signature is on it but I'm old and don't feel like squinting my eyes, LOL!). And now onto Star Wars Myths, aka Disney Star Wars. Again, just my opinion...

1. DISNEY SEQUEL TRILOGY

The most controversial one goes first. It's also got the most figures, and vehicles so that's another reason to go first.

1. Kylo Ren (Episode 9). He needs the rebuilt helmet and a swappable unhelmeted head. Needless to say he should be a head to toe new sculpt. He also needs his lit and unlit lightsabers.

2. Rey (Episode 8 Throne Room Duel). Here, Rey actually looks like a Jedi. She needs her blaster, lightsabers lit and unlit, and it's the only main look for Rey not in the VC.

3. Poe Dameron (Jakku). I would prefer the Nathan Drake look from Episode 9, but Poe is needed outside his X-Wing uniform. I'm going for our first time seeing him, he needs just a blaster. New sculpt? Absolutely. Going cheap and re-using Cassian Andor from RO as the base, somewhat tolerable.

4. Finn (Pasaana). Finn is the most underutilized character in the Trilogy. But, this is his best look. He needs a blaster, and a holster that works. With some figures lately, this has been an issue.

5. First Order Stormtrooper. Take the Sith Trooper buck, and make a new helmet sculpt. Do that and I'd be happy. I wouldn't mind a new sculpt, but my re-use idea would be satisfactory. The sooner this comes out, the sooner we could get variants like the officer, executioners, and FN-2187.

6. Maz Kanata. I still can't believe she hasn't been made in the VC. She does drive the plot of Episode 7, and is important enough to be in all 3 movies. She needs the chest that the Skywalker lightsaber came in, plus a blaster. Being able to swivel her glasses up and down would be nice, or a swappable head with the glasses on.

7. Lor San-Tekka. Kitbash the buck, but he needs a new head sculpt. The lack of Max Von Sydow figures in my collection bothers me. Plus, he's essential to the plot of Episode 7, despite his brief appearance. Plus, it's why I wanted Jakku Poe. He needs the map to Luke Skywalker as his accessory.

8. BB-8. New one. Preferably one that can roll. Have some plug in accessories for his torch, etc.

9. Chewbacca (pick a movie). He's needed. And not the only time a Disney Era Chewie is on my most wanted list.

Vehicles

1. Poe's X-Wing. Paint his Episode 9 one black. Watch this thing sell out on Hasbro Pulse within a week. Have the pack in be X-Wing Poe with a new card image.

2. First Order TIE Fighter. I don't mind the 2015 version, but if they gave it the VC treatment, it would work well. Making a FO TIE Pilot is necessary, so the pilot from the Jakku chase could be done here, while a standard FO TIE Pilot could get a mass retail standard card release.

3. Rey's Speeder. Unpopular opinion: I do like this vehicle. But it needs some enhanced sculpting, plus a new Rey figure with barbell hips. Just put her on a new card image.

Fan Channel Figures

1. General Hux (Episode 9)

2. Praetorian Guard (repack)

3. Rose Tico (repack)

4. Rey Skywalker with yellow bladed lightsaber

Playset

Exegol Throne Room with Palpatine

I see this as a deck, along with the apparatus that contains Palpatine. This is probably the only way we could get him, because as a deluxe figure he still wouldn't be complete.

4 Pack

Han Solo & General Organa (Episode 7), Lando Calrissian (Episode 9), Luke Skywalker (Episode 7)

Han should be in his primary movie outfit, Leia in her General's outfit for her reunion with Han. Lando can be a repack of the Solo Lando buck with a Billy Dee Williams head, and Luke can get a photo real update head sculpt, and not only have his cloak but lightsaber as well.

2 Pack

Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa Jedi Training (Episode 9).

This flashback scene in Episode 9 was the best part of that movie. Besides, this is the closest we'll get to a Jedi Leia action figure in the VC. The helmeted heads should be swappable, and they need their lit and unlit lightsabers.

2. Rogue One

This is the best movie of the Disney Era. At least so far. I feel The Mandalorian & Grogu movie will do well, but I digress. There are PLENTY of figures still needed nearly a decade later. I'd be happy if the Cassian and Jyn figures we have out get brand new head sculpts, especially Jyn.

1. Baze Malbus. How in the heck do we not have him?! I mean, seriously?! He's essential to the story, and we've had a good Chirrut that just has no partner in action.

2. Bodhi Rook. See above.

3. Chirrut Imwe. The one we have is so dated, and with Baze getting a new figure with barbell hips, Chirrut needs the same to pull off those insane moves taking out Stormtroopers.

4. Saw Gerrera. See my rant with Baze.

5. Galen Erso. He drives so much of the plot, it's not clear why he hasn't been made into the VC, but of course has a Black Series figure. I'd be okay if his lower body is a re-use of Lobot's with an all new upper body sculpt, and a copy of the Death Star plans.

6. Tank Commander & Tank Driver. These figures were hard to find, and should be repacked as part of a Fan Channel wave.

7. Two Tubes. This guy looks cool. He's an alien weirdo, and is Saw's right hand man. He got a 5 POA figure, just add some ball joints and barbell hips, it will be fine.

4 Pack

Scraif Rebel Troopers. We have Shoretroopers, Deathtroopers, but Rebel Troopers from Scarif? Nope. It's a big hole in the collection. Kit bashing will be needed, but it can be done. Individual named soldiers should get a single card release, but I'd like to see random heads, in the style of the X-Wing Pilot 4 pack.

3. Solo A Star Wars Story

I do enjoy this movie, but I don't always watch it when I watch the movies again. It has its moments, but it also left a lot on the toy floor. Some of these figures have yet to even get a Sixer.

1. Chewbacca. How in the H-E double hockey sticks do we NOT have Chewbacca from this movie?! When a Han figure is released, we need a Chewbacca figure in the same wave! It's as dumb as releasing an R2-D2 without C-3PO. Chewie has a different bandolier, and weapon, so with a new Chewbacca coming, here's another way to get him out there with a different look.

2. Qi'ra (Kessel). There's a 5 POA version of this figure, but no Sixer. I am looking to get a spare Marion Ravenwood 3.75 Indiana Jones figure to possibly make a custom version of Qi'ra, since the pants on both figures look similar. She needs a blaster though.

3. Dryden Vos. He's the main villain, and yet...not even a 5 POA figure. Since there's a Sixer version, I can see that version getting shrunk down, with help from kitbashing. But he needs his blades for that final fight scene.

4. Tobias Beckett. A good 5 POA and a decent Sixer, but Tobias is needed to give Major Derlin some company at the Cantina. And if you miss the Cheers reference, Tobias can serve Major Derlin a drink at the Cantina as Woody did for Cliff Claven on Cheers. Hopefully they sculpt his jacket to allow him room to quickly be able to draw his pistols.

5. Val. Same as Tobias re: 5 POA and Sixer, but despite her short time onscreen, she deserves an action figure. Just as Chewie is essential to Han, Val is essential to Tobias.

6. Maul. His appearance surprised people who didn't see him return in Clone Wars. As a bonus, this figure could possibly double as the Rebels Maul, but if he doesn't have barbell hips....we complain bitterly.

7. Therm Scissorpunch. Seriously, how cool would this name pill be?! Who is Lando going to play Sabacc with? Besides he's a cool looking lobster alien! And the Sixers will never get him....

Vehicle

Millennium Falcon. A clever repaint, and some additional pieces added to the one we already have would be icing on the cake. Plus, the pack in figures could be Lando, and a break apart version of L3-37. Face it, we all wanted to blow up that droid. Or was it just me?!

4. Rebels

This is a series I do enjoy watching again. And again. I enjoy The Ghost, and of the HasLab's we have had....it's the one with the least support. There are a LOT of missing figures, and a vehicle that needs an upgrade. Make that 2 vehicles that need an upgrade.

1. Ezra Bridger (S1 & S2). We have a proper Ezra that can fill in for S3 & S4, but we need Kid Ezra with his unique stun gun/lightsaber.

2. Kanan Jarrus (S3 & S4). Basically the HasLab Kanan, on a standard Rebels card. Also Hera, Sabine, Zeb and Chopper from the HasLab on standard Rebels cards.

3. Old Man Rex. He would have to be a new sculpt, but he has piloted and commanded the Ghost. He needs a swappable helmet, and how cool will it be to have a big dude who can still kick @$$?!

4. Seventh Sister. She is the main adversary in the 2nd season of Rebels, and any Inquisitor figure is a welcomed addition to the line.

5. Fifth Brother. Pun intended. But same as above, any Inquisitor figure is a welcomed addition to the line. But there is another.

6. Darth Vader. This will be the easiest repack ever. Just take the ANH Vader, but give him a new helmet sculpt. Vader showed up at the end of S1, and had a cameo in the series premiere. His presence in S2 changed the shows tone from kid friendly to a bit more grown up.

7. Ahsoka Tano. The cheap thing would be to repaint the Mandalore Ahsoka and call it a day with a new head sculpt. But, I would prefer her to have barbell hips. Collectors will want to display her with Vader to recreate their epic duel on Malachor.

8. Hondo Ohnaka. He can be a kit bash, as they made a version a few years ago. But he needs his look from the Rebels series where he is a down on his luck pirate. He had memorable moments on The Ghost as well. Hopefully his Ughnaught assistant is on the radar, but I didn't add him here.

9. Cikatro Vizago. He's a Devaronian, and he's a smuggler who employed the Ghost crew on some smuggling missions. With him being made, we could be a step closer to getting Labria for our Cantina's. A double reward! If he becomes a deluxe figure he should come with a Puffer Pig.

10. IG-RM. These droids were Vizago's muscle, and they need to be available for troop building.

11. Mart Mattin. He played a role in the Rebels series finale where he actually flew The Ghost, along with Vizago. He could be a kitbash with the younger Ezra buck and X-Wing Luke.

Deluxe Figure: Azmorigan. He's a fat dude, and he's voiced by James Hong. That's all you need to know why he deserves a figure. But his size demands to be deluxe, he couldn't fit on a standard sized card.

2nd Deluxe figure: Lando Calrissian. I'm happy with a kitbash, but he needs a Puffer Pig and a Deflector Shield generator. I picked Lando over Leia since he had 2 appearances on the show which beats Leia, who only appeared once but deserves a figure someday.

Vehicles

1. Inquisitor TIE Fighter. With Vader's TIE getting an update, this vehicle could be done. The folding wings were unique, and we got one in 2015. The likelihood of this being enhanced is rare, but the Inquisitors can't exactly fly anything, can they?! Besides they chased The Ghost a few times, and Vader did chase The Ghost as well.

2. Phantom 1. For completists, Hasbro really needs to release this. Add something to the bottom of the 2015 Phantom so it can attach to The Ghost and include a Kanan or Hera figure to pilot it. That way, HasLab Ghost backers have a new display option, and a very good figure is available on a unique cardback for carded collectors. Win/win.

 5. DISNEY PLUS

Here is where things will get mixed up. As much as I like Andor, from a toy perspective I think we're only getting Cassian in TIE Pilot disguise, and his black outfit at the end of S2. No Luthen. No Kleya. And sadly, no Bix or Syril. But, with mixed up figure waves in the VC, why stop now?!

1. Qimir. I hate the Acolyte, but it does need the main bad guy. He needs a swappable unhelmeted head and his 2 lightsabers. Now that we have C'baoth, I feel his upper body could be used for Qimir. Heck, his buck could be used for Qimir with some minor retooling and new head, accessories, etc.

2. Jecki. Another Acolyte figure, and likely the last one we need. I'd love to have Kelnacca, but I'd be okay if we didn't get him.

3. Inquisitor (Tales of the Jedi). Ashoka took this guy down, and he just looked too good to not be an action figure. I currently use a Fortnite Omega figure as a fill in on this character.

4. Purgetrooper (Obi-Wan Kenobi series). He needs a single card mass release. Happy with a repack here. It's better looking figure wise over the previous Purgetrooper from Jedi Survivor.

5. The Client. He drives the main plot of S1 of The Mandalorian. His addition to the VC is mandatory, as he's essential to so many scenes, including for the Nevarro Cantina. He needs his "ice cream maker", and I'm happy if he's a kitbash.

6. Dr Pershing. If we get Galen Erso, we get this guy, and vice versa. He's important in all 3 seasons of The Mandalorian.

7. Ezra Bridger (Peridea). I feel this figure is coming soon. He'll need his new lightsaber, of course.

Vehicle

Outlander TIE Fighter with Moff Gideon. I do think folded wings are possible for TIE Fighter's. But I hope Hasbro figures out a display stand that can support the wings so that you don't risk warping them by standing it on a table, desk, or shelf. Gideon needs barbell hips, too.

Thanks for reading! A special thanks to Chris and Nomad at BanthaSkull for allowing me to post this link in the comments section! Please share this link on your social media accounts so I can get more readers!

Next week: With football season in full swing, I have a small look at some of my recent additions, a custom or two, and my improvement on Jedi Legend Obi-Wan.
