Last Figure Standing Begins; Figure Hauls
Last Figure Standing has begun with a livestream yesterday! Details on submitting your Top 10 lists will be linked further down, and I'll link a copy of the livestream as well. My LFS list needs to be updated as Shaak Ti is coming to the VC in 2026, so I need to find another Jedi. Who will it be? I'll post that below. But also, I want to share some recent toy hauls, plus a very important repair job on a certain Jedi Legend.
HAULS/FIXES/CUSTOMS
1. JEDI LEGEND OBI-WAN FIX
Using a dremmel I ordered, I shaved off the excess sleeves so his hands could at least move better. I put the new figure into just boiled water, removed the hands, and cut down the sleeves, then slightly sanded where I cut. Not bad for my 2nd time using a dremmel. I practiced on the damaged one to get it right. But I won't attempt a THWG with this figure, despite shaving the sleeves since that's how I broke the last figures hand. Lesson learned. It's also why I haven't reviewed the Anakin/Vader figures yet either.
2. JUNO ECLISPE/STARKILLER
I picked up Juno a month or so ago. I have another Juno with an open coat, and sporting a Deena Shan head from her covert Rebel action outfit in one of her comic packs. It's a decent figure, despite not having modern articulation, but her figure was taller than the VC Starkiller, which is one reason why I made the custom. I added a vest from an Imperial Gunner and painted his belt black. I still need to figure out how to get his head to fit better, but I have a dremmel so I can cut off a ball joint and glue it on the neck post of the GI Joe figure. It's still a work in progress.
3. ACOLYTE JEDI
From left to right: Indara, Yord & Sol. While I cannot stand the Acolyte series, these figures are actually quite good, despite Sol's inability to hold his lightsaber (I use a POTF2 lightsaber for him), and his deformed left hand on my sample. Yord is a good figure, but the only complaint I have is if you move his legs, the plastic skirt raises up. Indara looks better in hand than on photos. I felt her legs looked too puffed out in photo reviews I had seen, but in hand she's completely different, and in a good way. They aren't perfect figures, but if the Battle of Geonosis Jedi are coming from these figures, then we should get some good Jedi in 2026. But, I still prefer the cloth skirts mixed with plastic. And making sure all Jedi men have up/down and not left/right wrist movements.
4. CUSTOM FIGURE: IREK ISMAREN
I had a spare Baylan Skoll figure, so I took off the head, painted his upper body armor gloss black, added a small piece of 2 sided tape to the neck post and put on a 5 POA Kylo Ren head, and got a perfect fit. His head doesn't move around, but he's got 16 excellent articulation points, good enough for a modern custom. I didn't photograph him with his lightsaber, but I cut the side vents off a Kylo Ren lightsaber for him to use. The extra Baylan lightsaber is going to another figure.
The name Irek Ismaren should be familiar to Legends readers. He was rumored to be the son of Palpatine, and was a teenager when he encounter Leia Organa-Solo in the novel Children of the Jedi where he reactivated a space station powered by AI. My version of Irek is an adult, and an Emperor's Hand, which replaced the Inquisitors. This Irek, along with a few Imperials, takes over the Empire after Endor, and there are other Emperor's Hands out there, including Mara Jade.
5. VARIOUS FIGURE HAUL PART 1
For the record, this was all 50% off. The 1st image is some POTF2/POTJ figures, the Qui-Gon figure is a good one, used one years ago for a custom, but always wanted a second one. I needed the POTF2 Ben Kenobi for my Cantina, as some POTF2 and OTC figures will make up the majority of my display figures. If only my Legacy Collection one didn't break. The Ishi Tib was too good to pass up.
The 2nd picture is the Evolutions Mandalorian 3 pack of Mandalore, Jango Fett and ESB Boba Fett. Jango and Boba are going to be in my office display, while Mandalore might well be a custom Knight of Ren. Again, half off from a $40 price.
I have a Sixer Force Ghost Yoda, and I needed a Sixer Force Ghost Ben Kenobi. He was half off. I don't need a Sixer Force Ghost Anakin because they don't have a Sebastian Shaw version. He doesn't come with any accessories, but I have a couple lightsabers he could borrow. Again, he was half off!
6. FIGURE HAUL PART 2
Yesterday I made an impromptu run after work brought me out near a used toy shop. I picked up a POTF2 Rancor Keeper, and found 3 more Kenner Cantina figures, but I misjudged Greedo. His legs, sadly are loose so I'll need to get fishing line to tie around the joint to "tighten" his legs. But both Walrus Man and Snaggletooth have no issues, aside from worn paint. I bought reproduction accessories so I can give some of them to these figures.

Click on the link above to find out the rules, and how to submit your Top 10! For the record, here was my Top 10:
1. Death Star II Luke Skywalker
2. Bespin Luke Skywalker
3. Shaak Ti
4. Ki-Adi Mundi
5. Barriss Offee
6. Quinlan Vos
7. Aayla Secura
8. Maul (Rebels)
9. Seventh Sister (Rebels)
10. Rycar Ryjard
But some changes need to be made. Disqus commentor Lobot Boy Summer granted me permission to break my promise at 10, so that will become Fifth Brother from Rebels. Shaak Ti will be a part of the Battle of Geonosis, so I have to take her off my Top 10. But who to replace her? I thought about Rey from Episode 8, but honestly she'd be in my Top 12 for this list. But there could be only one logical choice: a Geonosis Jedi. Bultar Swan was at the top, until I realized....no. I'm all for having more female Jedi figures, but it needed to be important to the Gunship HasLab. And then there was only 1 logical choice: Yoda. Y-O-D-A, Yoda!!! If any figure needs to be all new, it's Yoda. We have a great Count Dooku figure. But we need a proper new Yoda figure to tell the Clones "around the survivors a perimiter, create!" Hasbro made plans to have a super articulated Yoda back in 2013. The time is now. Yoda is desperately in need of an update. So when I submit my list, Yoda is at the 3rd spot for me. It's time. Yoda gets number 3, the Fifth Brother gets the 10th.
This was actually a big week for Star Wars. We got the Mandalorian and Grogu trailer, a trailer for Visions S3 and of course Last Figure Standing has officially kicked off! Admittedly, I found the M&G trailer underwhelming. Not a lot of dialog, but some decent action scenes, Sigourney Weaver and a brand new Razor Crest! Visions S3 is visually stunning, and looks like something that will no doubt inspire some figures, but the Sixers will get those of course. Oh, well.
Coming soon: I have a medical procedure scheduled for next Monday (it isn't major but it will be very painful), but I intend to get a couple more photos done of the new figures I have gotten. I have 2 down and a couple more to go. Including a couple Cantina figures I've waited a long time for, and will finally open....
