VC Top 25 in 2025: Number 5
The Top 5 begins today!
MY 5TH RANKED FIGURE:
VC 206 IG-11
Photo from Galactic Figures
WHY I LIKE THIS FIGURE:
If anyone remembers the 2002 Clone Wars Microseries, there were IG droids that Obi-Wan fought, and they could do all these near acrobatic poses in battle. When IG-88 came out years later....he couldn't. When this figure was announced my biggest fear was he'd be a repack of IG-88. Nope! He not only was an all new sculpt, he's got all the moves! He can moonwalk, he can do the mashed potato and the twist! My sample luckily hasn't had any breakage, but if opening I recommend putting him in just boiled water in case he has tight joints. He also holds both of his weapons with ease, and the only complaint I have is the wires on his legs get unplugged by moving them around.
WHY HE'S RANKED 5th:
He's a solid figure head to toe. As soon as I got him I literally played with him for an hour or two. Next to another figure it's the most fun I had with an action figure in a very long time. But, there are a couple figures ahead of him that I enjoyed just a bit more.
COLLECTOR'S CHOICE 5th RANKED FIGURE:
VC 231 STORMTROOPER

WHY I THINK COLLECTORS LIKE THIS FIGURE:
Besides the original Kenner card, this Stormtrooper is accurate to his onscreen appearance in ANH. And as MAKWCSWF pointed out to me, he also has rocker ankles. Plus a holster to store his blaster. If it's one thing Vintage Collection collectors in their 40's to 50's love, it's anything OT related. And not to bring up a painful subject, but if there is one thing the modern 5 POA era did bring, was an excellent Stormtrooper helmet sculpt. Over the last few years, it has become perfected as this figure shows. He can achieve more poses than the RO Stormtrooper counterpart, as the rocker ankles open up more display opportunities.
WHY HE'S RANKED 5th:
Troop builders are always popular with collectors. Doesn't matter about the franchise. If you collected the 3.75 GI Joe figures, you likely troop built Cobra Troopers, then Cobra Vipers, Crimson Guard, and the other Vipers. If you troop build the Classified figures, you're spending a small fortune, but it's often worth it. So far, this is the definitive OT Stormtrooper from ANH. I'll leave it to the collecting experts on what would define definitive Stormtroopers from ESB and ROTJ. But as the 50th Anniversary of Star Wars nears, he's perfect. And he came out on top of the coin toss.
