VC Top 25 in 2025: Number 23

 MY 23rd RANKED FIGURE:


VC 21 GAMORREAN GUARD

WHY I LIKE THIS FIGURE: Well, to the ire of many collectors who will read this....I don't. He's a kooshball with articulated limbs. And the fur is just too overdone. However, I can appreciate how good those limbs and head are. Even now they hold up well over a decade after this figure debuted. To this day, I've only seen this figure twice in person and didn't buy it either time. I was obligated to put it on my all time list, but if I had put it at 25th, while fun for me would have opened up trolls, which I'm okay with. 


WHY HE'S RANKED 23rd: As I stated above, obligation and being an articulated kooshball. If the fur hadn't been done, and plastic used instead I would rank him higher. It should be noted my opinion on this figure is much different than collector's. That's as much foreshadowing as I'll do since I did some yesterday.

VC 152 VEDAIN

WHY I THINK COLLECTORS LIKE THIS FIGURE: He checks off a couple boxes: 1. He helps complete a scene & 2. He's one of Jabba's goons. In the Kenner days, the Return of the Jedi line had the best detail, and mix of characters to choose from. Vedain came as part of a 3 pack.  But what really stands out is the weathering on his clothing, he looks like he works on a desert planet, and probably changes the oil on the Skiff, too. 

WHY HE'S RANKED 23RD: He isn't a bad figure. He's got a decent card, so that's a win for carded collectors. He's got good articulation so that's a win for loose collectors. He fills out a scene, but isn't a main character. Overall, a very good figure but as this list counts down there are a lot of good figures ahead, and Vedain has secured his spot in immortality for the Collector's Choice.

    The Gamorrean Guard was on my top 10. He's a great figure, one of the top 2 or 3 from TVC1.0 I'm a big fan of the furry soft goods on this. I have half a dozen in my Jabba's Palace display.

ANH Luke Skywalker VC Review

 Before I get to Luke, I'm going to cover the Ghost figures next week. Construction on the ship is currently underway, and once done I'll do a full review. So Ghost posts are coming, but for such a special figure, I hope you all can understand why I want to go ahead with this, my first new figure of 2025!  Now, I'm moving away from being a carded collector. 2024 Last Figure Standing

  Once again, Last Figure Standing is back for 2024! The rules are simple, 10 figures in order of preference. And another reminder this is for the Vintage Collection, I don't know if there is anything similar for the Black Series but if there is I'll share it here. Also note this was written in late July, as after SDCC, I have a few changes from last year's list since some of those are being made, but I don't see any changes for when this will start. And I should point out that voting hasn't started yet, but I am simply getting a jump start as I just got the VC Jabba the Hutt yesterday, and don't have time for a review and comparison to the 2010 Legacy Collection Jabba ready to go.
