The VC Top 25 In 2025

 



Since I have more readers, thanks to being allowed to post in the comments section on BanthaSkull, I want to give back in a way to Chris and Nomad and do something special, but I also want to let others have a say. But how?! And when?! The when part was easy: after SWTVC March Madness. How? Well, that was the trick. When I first started my blog, I did a VC Top 25. I was new to blogging and admittedly it isn't my best work. I'm not much a tech guy either (it took me FOREVER to figure out how to do an online form. And livestream, I cant do because I lack home internet), but I've learned a few things on the way, and now can do a proper one. Besides, it's 2025, and it's time for an updated and definitive VC Top 25.

So here was my original list done in 2022:

I do expect to get some ribbing over those choices. And I deserve it. But, over the last few years we have gotten some outstanding VC figures, so my current Top 25 has a lot of newer figures on there. Are some of these figures on my list? Possibly. I'll offer some details in a bit. The previous list was more of what I had and liked at that time.

So, how can you participate in this? I have created a link to a form, and it's at the bottom of this post. I decided on collectors submitting their 10 favorite figures. Since I'm going to be the only one collecting the data, I need to keep things as simple on my end as possible. My average view counts on my posts hover between 25-33 depending on the topic I use. So at the low end, 250 votes, with 330 on the high end. It will be easier to get the top 25 from the 330. Of course if I get a lot more than that, that's also good for getting a full list. Basically it's 10 questions, and it asks a very simple question: what is your favorite VC figure? The questions are in descending order from 10th down to your favorite figure. So here are my rules:

1. Please keep answers simple. If Jabba's Palace Luke is a favorite VC figure for you, respond with VC 175. If the VC figure number is shared, such as VC 177, put the number, VC 177 Mando or VC 177 Incinerator. For deluxe figures please put Deluxe Jango or Deluxe Zeb. If a HasLab figure is a favorite, please put the number of that figure. It will make this process easier on me.

2. Voting ends on April 30th. I'll be busy collecting the data and recording the votes. The Top 25 will begin on May 4th, and I will do multiple blog posts as on May 25th I will reveal the top choices. It's a basic popularity contest. The more votes a figure gets, the higher its rank in the Countdown. You should only be able to vote one time. So please be sure about your choices when you submit them!

3. I'm expecting ties. Any tie won't impact the Countdown at all. I'll do multiple entries for the number. So if there's a tie at the 20th spot, I'll do however many figures are tied. Then go to the 19th figure, etc. If there's a tie at the top spot, it'll be determined by a coin flip, best out of 5 flips.

4. You can pick any VC figures, but none that arrive after April 1st, 2025. Which means that 501st Clonetrooper, which would have made my Top 25, isn't eligible. I'm using Hasbro Pulse's shipping dates to determine the cut off. Which means sadly no Snowtrooper too, as that's a May 1st ship date.




Once completed, I'll begin the countdown on May 4th. My posts will begin with my 25th pick, followed by the Collector's Choice 25th pick. It's just that simple. Once this is complete, I'll show the numbers, but I'll be working off a checklist that I've made, and will count the totals. Also, I'm not collecting anyone's emails, or other personal information. I'm not making money off of this, although I wouldn't object to getting some, LOL! But it's being done for entertainment purposes, because with so much going on a little distraction can be a good thing.

ANH Luke Skywalker VC Review

 Before I get to Luke, I'm going to cover the Ghost figures next week. Construction on the ship is currently underway, and once done I'll do a full review. So Ghost posts are coming, but for such a special figure, I hope you all can understand why I want to go ahead with this, my first new figure of 2025!  Now, I'm moving away from being a carded collector. So the days of me doubling up are coming to an end. Once the ANH Mains are done (and the Heir To The Empire 3 pack), so will my carded collection. I'll be sticking to openers. 2024 Last Figure Standing

  Once again, Last Figure Standing is back for 2024! The rules are simple, 10 figures in order of preference. And another reminder this is for the Vintage Collection, I don't know if there is anything similar for the Black Series but if there is I'll share it here. Also note this was written in late July, as after SDCC, I have a few changes from last year's list since some of those are being made, but I don't see any changes for when this will start. And I should point out that voting hasn't started yet, but I am simply getting a jump start as I just got the VC Jabba the Hutt yesterday, and don't have time for a review and comparison to the 2010 Legacy Collection Jabba ready to go.
