Happy Easter!
Originally, I wasn't going to do a post since today is Easter Sunday. But, with Celebration going on in Japan (I won't review any of the reveals, but I'm happy to get Merrin, Crosshair, Marshal Cobb Vanth and Darktrooper Gideon in the VC, as well as a new Bantha and Tusken Raider, and getting Dash Rendar in the Black Series is nice, too), a new Maul animated series that could make Darth Talon part of Disney Canon, and several movies which may or may not get delayed are in the works.
First, I've been delaying my review of The Ghost for a good reason: I'm rewatching Star Wars Rebels. I'm on the 4th season, and by now will likely have seen Jedi Night and hope that Kanan somehow survived but of course he doesn't. But I needed to see it again so I could get an idea on how and where to set some of the furniture up in the lounge/engineering area. And of course to get some ideas on setting up potential pictures. So it's coming, just not this week.
Next, I'm working on my VC Top 25 in 2025. You can vote here:

Just remember to put the VC Number or VC Number and name. I've had a few name only submissions that I may have to toss out. Remember, deluxe figures, HasLab figures, basically any VC figure that came on a card are eligible, as long as they came out before April 1st, 2025. If the link won't click for you, copy and paste it into another tab and you should be good to go. The Countdown begins May 4th, and will wrap up on May 25th.
The last few weeks have been slow thanks to tax season, and nothing new coming in. I did get Dr Evazan the other day, but I've made a few purchases that will be part of the Cantina once it arrives, and I got these figures for under $25:
Ellors Madak was the most expensive figure, with Zutton and Constable Zuvio being cheap. Zuvio is from Episode 7, but Jakku and Tattooine are both desert planets, so Zuvio will fit in the Cantina just fine. He won't be the only 5 POA modern figure there, either. Not a bad pickup, and they're cheap. The St Tammany Comic Con is May 3rd and 4th (I'm going on the 3rd) and I hope to find some more good values, both for the Cantina and some customs. Speaking of customs...
I've had time to make a few. And I plan to start on a couple of GI Joe figures to turn into Star Wars characters. But these were all fast customs, none needed to be boiled and popped.
1. Thrawn
The live action Thrawn figure was a disappointment. He's shorter than the Rebels Thrawn, so I swapped the head, hands, and blaster from live action Thrawn and put them on the Rebels one. Then put the Rebel parts on the live action buck. My definitive Thrawn will come in the HTTE pack so this figure will be a good placeholder until it arrives. Amazingly, removing the hands didn't require a boil and pop, so that made me happy.
2. Mae becomes Osha; Osha becomes Mae
When I found Osha and Mae at Wally World for $6 each, this was why I bought them. Mae has longer hair, Osha has shorter hair. I have my regular Osha figure in my Mandalorian bin, as a place holder until they make Peli Motto. My regular Mae is in my dark side user bin. Both could see themselves in my Cantina display. But Mae has the better face sculpt, at least in this sample.
3. Dathomir Witch
I have several spare Morgan Elsbeth figures, and originally I had put the head of the comic pack Asajj Ventress on one of them, but I hated it. My 2003 Asajj Ventress is in pieces, so I put that head on her, and it's a perfect fit. I gave her Mother Talzin's lightsaber since she never really had a reason to use one. Now this isn't a complete custom, some paint will be needed. I'm tempted to paint her neck and hands red, or match her head color. But she's keeping the lightsaber. I also need to name her, and I'm leaning towards using the Legends name Komari Vosa, although this figure will be part of my Mandalorian/New Republic setup, and not be Count Dooku's apprentice who was knocked off by Jango Fett, and whose lightsabers Asajj Ventress used, which was her Legends story.
And since today is Easter, once again He is the reason for the season...and He is risen. Happy Easter!
