Mandalorian S3 Vintage Collection Wish List

The third season of The Mandalorian has come and is now gone. Honestly, this wasn't the best season. Aside from the final 2 episodes it's mostly a snoozer. Now here is your Spoiler Warning: I will be spoiling the 3rd season, so if you don't want tonbe spoiled, please don't read any further! But that doesn't mean that there aren't some characters who deserve action figures! Since the Black Series will likely get them first (The Mandalorian Fleet Commander figure has a neat removable rocket on his jetpack plus a removable helmet), this will be a wishlist for the Vintage Collection. This will not be in any particular order.

1. IG-12/Marshall IG-11. I see this as a deluxe figure simply because it's the only way Grogu can fit inside the late IG-11's chest. Hasbro has done something neat for the upcoming Mandalorian Speeder Bike release putting Grogu in a pouch, while he can't be removed from it you can still see him in it. As long as his head can turn, or be swapped for a head with a different facial expression that could be a hit. A voice chip that says "no" and "yes" would be too pricy unless they make it with the Force Chip features the 2017-2018 5 POA figures had. Being able to make this figure Marshall IG-11 would be icing on the cake.

2. Imperial Super Commando's. Moff Gideon's new "helpers" reminded me of the Mandalorian Imperial Troopers seen in Rebels. Stormtroopers with jetpacks?! Yes, they CAN fly now! And many collectors would empty their wallets to troop build these guys.

3. Kelleren Beq. Who's he? He's the Jedi who rescued Grogu during Order 66, and is played by Ahmed Best, who has played Jar Jar Binks (Jar Jar is one of my favorite supporting characters) on the big screens and small screens (Clone Wars). The new buck could also give us more Jedi down the line.

4. Naboo Trooper. Kelleran meets Naboo Troopers who take Grogu off Coruscant. Every wave needs a repack, so just repack the figure from The Phantom Menace. But with a photo real face sculpt please!!

5. Praetorian Guards. The good news is Hasbro just needs to take the sculpt they already have and make new helmets and weapons. These guys took down Paz Vizla, and are actually bad asses! While I doubt we'll ever get the rest of the Sequel era PG's, the Mandalorian versions would sell extremely well! Just give them extra accessories because collectors will want to troop build!!

6. Bo Katan-Kryze. Yes we have one already. But if she's the main character going forward (according to the rumor mill, and her shared lead billing), she needs something new. A new head sculpt, some paint, and include a Darksaber. And there you have it, a "repacked" figure but a new card. Add a throne for a deluxe version.

7. Darktrooper Moff Gideon. Seeing Gideon in the all black Beskar armor was quite a sight! Plus he looked like the Mauldalorian from the Clone Wars, and Hasbro has that figure out already! Just paint it black, give him a swappable Gideon head, a Darksaber and Praetorian Guard weapon, and Hasbro has the most anticipated figure from this past season of The Mandalorian!! But the real question is: was that a clone that got killed?!

8. Captain Gilad Pellaeon. Seeing him in the Shadow Council scene was not only good fan service, but I had thought he was dead as his ship was attacked by Purrgil's in the Rebels series finale! Portrayed by Xander Berkeley (George Mason on 24), Pellaeon looked exactly as he was seen in artwork of his character! Now, I don't want a holographic Pellaeon, but the real thing! The new Piett figure is the baseline for all Imperial Officers going forward, and with the Rebels version of Grand Admiral Thrawn coming soon, he needs Pellaeon to give orders to. Now if they give us Rukh, and C'baoth so many scenes from the original Thrawn Trilogy could get re-enacted!

So, that's the wishlist. So which ones do I think actually get made? Marshall IG-11 would be a simple repaint. Easily done. The Praetorian Guards could easily be done as well. Moff Gideon is a near lock as far as I'm concerned, even with Hasbro's reluctance to give us villains since the VC line returned in 2018, and all he would be is a Mauldalorian repaint. The rest? Doubtful. While I would love to get Pellaeon, I doubt Hasbro will make him. But I expect all of these to be in the Black Series first, so you never know! Maybe they all could happen one day. Thanks for reading!
