Vintage Collection Livestream Reveals and Pipeline Reveals
Honestly, I had low expectations for the Vintage Collection when it came to Hasbro's livestream. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised, and also very surprised at what is coming down the pipeline! Also, no word on WHEN these items will be available for preorder.
Admiral Piett has been a long awaited figure and honestly I like the new officer buck. It opens the door for many figures down the line: Tarkin, Krennic, Veers, Piett, Thrawn, Yularen, Andor ISB people, etc. The blaster pistol looks to be different, and I wonder if a holster could possibly be added, especially if they get to Krennic. Piett also has a removable hat, which is a nice touch!
Finally we get a ROTJ version of Darth Vader! And he is a clever repack from the neck down of the Dark Times Vader from the Obi-Wan series. This time he comes with a swappable right arm, re-enacting Luke's battle inflicted wound. Plus he comes with a 2 part removable helmet (I don't recall them saying the neck brace was removable). He comes with a new card image, and expect this one to be a fast seller once he is available to order. I need 2, 1 to keep carded and 1 to open.
Endor Han is a partially new tooled figure from the waist up. It looks like Alden Han's legs were used here, but it looks like Hasbro finally captures Harrison Ford's likeness. The chest cut looks unnatural as I had hoped he'd have the standard turning waist. But he does get an all new card image and no trench coat so he can help you build out the Endor Bunker playset and scene.
The Phase II Clonetrooper comes on an Andor card, but looks brilliant! He comes with his standard and long blaster plus he sports a removable helmet. They also have a 212th Batallion Troop Builder Pack (not pictured) utilizing this new Clonetrooper sculpt so expect more in the futu
The Weequay Skiff Guard had long been pipelined but now is confirmed. He won't be a fan channel release but a mainline one, and if you don't have him, here is your chance because his secondary market prices are high!
Starkiller (not pictured) gets repacked again, and from the images shown it looks like they slightly updated his face sculpt to look more like actor Sam Witwer who played him for the Force Unleashed video game. Not a bad figure, but if you had the previous repack from the 3.75 Black Series you could pass on this but it looks good on a Kenner style card.
Captain Ballast from the Amazon Exclusive Bad Batch Pack gets his name corrected to Caprian Howzer as it was on the show. No picture as this one I'm not wild about because he's an opener if I get one, and there just isn't enough Bad Batch VC figures for him to interact with.
I have no pictures of the pipleline reveals, but I am eagerly anticipating their arrivals! The pipeline figures are:
1. Luke Skywalker from BOBF. I expect this to be a deluxe pack with Grogu and the Cave of Evil backpack. It will be interesting to see if they take away the belt on the Mando Luke figure, as that's my guess. Hope for a single card but deluxe Luke would sell a LOT!
2. Obi-Wan vs Battle Damage Darth Vader. I haven't seen the series, but if you looked at helmet less Vader's picture and noticed he looked more like Hayden Christensen than Sebastian Shaw, here is why. My guess is Obi-Wan will be a repack of the one from earlier, but I hope this 2 Pack idea is something Hasbro carries forward. But still, I want to see this before I plan on whether or not to preorder it.
VEHICLES!!
1. Speeder Bike from The Mandalorian. With the one for ROTJ out, this was a no-brainer for Hasbro. A repaint and no word on whether this will come with a Biker Scout or Grogu in a satchel. My guess is both but they only show a small image and not the toy in the reveal.
2. Din Djarin's N-1 Starfighter. Did you miss out on the Razor Crest? Well here's your chance to make up for it! No word if your R5-D4 figure can fit in the droid socket but it's likely Grogu will be able to! Expect the price in the $100-$175 range though. If a Din Djarin figure is included expect a $200 range.
