VC Supreme Leader Snoke

 In 2015's Episode 7, besides Kylo Ren the character who fascinated me the most was Supreme Leader Snoke. Who was he? Was he Darth Plaugeis? In 2017's Episode 8 well, he got killed off. What a waste. But surprisingly, he is not a bad figure. The 1st wave of the VC relaunch in April 2018 wasn't a great wave, but Snoke stood out anyway. Plus in keeping with spooky/scary theme for Halloween I thought now would be the time to cover the deformed and scarred Supreme Leader of the Empire, um, First Order.

Right off the bat, Snoke has 16 POA, and fits in with all the modern (2018-present) VC figures. If he had the barbell neck joint and not a ball joint head he would have 17 POA. As you'll see in the photos he can be seated in the Throne Room in the BB-8 Playset which is what I use to shoot my photos. He wasn't exactly acrobatic in either of the 2 films he appeared in, but it is nice to have him look like he can sit in his throne, unlike the 5 POA version (which will also be in the pictures below). Now to get him to sit takes a LOT more effort than it should. The ball socket hips don't do favors but the thigh swivels help out. Also you have to turn some joints to get him to look right, which is one reason why I'll show him without his robe, one to make a  joke and the other to show off the detail that went into making him. His robe is all gold, with a plastic belt and a plastic neck/shoulder brace that clips into a hole on his back and in his robe. Those are his only accessories. He's also one of the tallest 3.75 inch scale figures out there.

The paint apps could have been done better, especially his eyes. Galactic Figures had what his eyes should look like, I have 2 and all I see are just poor paint apps. But the sculpt? It's one of the best sculpted figures in the VC. His scars are well done, especially the one on his forehead. Heck, they even got the ring he wears, which was carved from a rock from Darth Vader's lair at Mustafar!

Now is he essential? No. I got a second one on clearance because I felt like I needed to get at least 2 of every figure from that first wave so the line could succeed. But on the plus side, if you do have him you can act out your Snoke Theory, which is better than what RJ & JJ had done with him. And on a side note, his head can fit on a Deathtrooper body so if you want a cooler, but slightly shorter version of Snoke, there you go! And as for my Snoke Theory (Theories), I'll reveal after the pictures!

Snoke Theory: I have 3. 

1. He's Darth Plaugeis. Plaugeis survived Palpy's assassination attempt and finding flaws with the rule of 2, helps create the Knights of Ren. 

2. He's a failed Sith Apprentice. He failed his master and was exiled. 

3. He helped Luke restore the Jedi, but turned against Luke causing them to fight. Snoke would be left horribly injured as Ben Solo and the Knights of Ren killed all of Luke's Jedi students.
