Vintage Collection The Mythrol Review
Figures like this are why I love the Vintage Collection. Why? Because only in a scale of 3.75 inch figures can you get a character like this to enhance a vehicle or playset. See, the reason this figure got made was to help populate the very popular Razor Crest HasLab. So, is this figure worth your effort? Read on!
Sporting 17 POA (barbell joint upper & lower head, 2 ball socket hips, 2 ball socket elbows, shoulders, knees, ankles, 1 ball jointed waist, 2 thigh swivels) this guy moves well. This is one of the last all new sculpts to use the ball socket hips as newer figures use true ball jointed hips. Getting him to sit in a chair is effortless, and the hip articulation isn't hindered like it is for Mandalore Maul & Mandalore Ahsoka from the Clone Wars finale. I had no issues with tight joints on my sample either which is always a plus. If that ever happens boil some water and once it boils turn the heat off and dip the figure in for a minute. That should loosen tight joints. The card looks to be an actual image from the show instead of a computer generated image and I applaud Hasbro for going back to this. It's what they should be doing more on new character cards if possible. Computer images are okay for animated figures but live action should be taken from the shows themselves. ,
Accessories are a bonus, as he not only comes with a blaster but a tool, a hologram of himself (aka his bounty puck) and a set of binders which actually work and fit quite well, so he can be preparedto get frozen in Carbonite by Din Djarin. You might want to also use the binders for Endor Capture Luke too. I find the blaster fits best in his left hand. He has no holster, so be sure to keep his blaster in a bag if you store this loose. Nice to see some extras, which no matter what size figures you collect is always nice to see. This is also the 1st time this character has been made into an action figure. Most new media figures debut first in the 6 inch line. Nice to see the VC get a first for a change!
Sculpt and paint is excellent, especially the head. His skin is painted a shiny blue, and there are good details on his eyes, ears and nose. His body sculpt is unique because he isn't exactly athletic so yes, he's a fat guy. Or he's muscular for his species. Pick whatever option you like best there. His outfit has simple dark colors so it makes the head paint stand out even more. Hasbro did an outstanding job on every aspect of this figure.
Now, do you need him? If you're a casual collector, you probably don't. Which may be why he isn't in the 6 inch line yet. But if you have the Razor Crest or Navarro Cantina you do, for scene completion purposes. Plus he's a random character alien who can serve many purposes in displaying your collection. The Vintage Collection exists for figures like this. He is available at most retail outlets now, so don't pay inflated eBay prices for this figure. But do yourself a favor, buy at least one to keep on card, and another to open. Image from Galactic Figures thanks for reading!
