Random Thoughts June 27th Thru July 3rd

 As we are in what for many will be a 3 day weekend, in the US it's Fourth of July weekend or for everyone else worldwide just another work day. A new novel debuted, new comics are out and the final Kenobi Wednesdays revealed 2 new Black Series figures and 0 VC figures. Yeah.  Fun if you're a Sixer, not so much for the VC. But the VC got the better Darth Vader figure so there's that.


Kenobi is over and now the wait for Andor begins. With 12 episodes we get a first from Disney as most live action shows have 6-8 episodes. Bad Batch has season 2 coming up, with new looks for the team. No word yet on Season 3 but expect it once Season 2 streams later on. Back to Andor, the teaser really looked good. Hopefully we see the origins of the Rebellion and the events that lead up to Mon Mothma's declaration as seen on Rebels Season 3.

Finally picked up comics. Obi-Wan Kenobi's miniseries is a top seller as my local store sells out. Luckily I have another comic book store in town and they had a couple issues left. Crimson Reign ends to kickoff another crossover event. (Insert rage emoji) Bounty Hunters 25 feature the Knights of Ren, and of course Star Wars 25 will have stories from multiple eras. Those issues are on sale this month. The Darth Vader monthly is good (Vader and Sabe make a good team, but I have a feeling she is going to meet a fate similar to Padme) and the Han Solo/Chewbacca monthly is trudging along. The large lag time from issue 1 to issue 2 have hurt sales, IMO.

Not a lot of news now to go through. Collectors are in the preorder waiting period and hoping not too many ship at once. Product delays are really out of the control on online stores and collectors for the most part understand this. Me? I'm hoping my Deluxe Mando Ahsoka doesn't get cancelled by Wally World. But I have the Mando VC Corvus Ahsoka pre-ordered so I'm good there either way. The waiting is the hardest part. Especially when reports of the Obi-Wan VC line are hitting area Target stores. Just not the Target stores where you live. I'd recommend pre-ordering Darth Vader. That might be my top VC figure of 2022. That wraps up this post, I hope to have 4 more posts today, including a Legnds themed post!

My SWTVC March Madness Top 25

  So I've finally gotten around to making my Top 25 for the SWTVC March Madness Tournament, and as a a reminder, the final day to get your Top 25 list is January 31st! When making your list, 1 is the most desired, with 25 being the least desired. So here is my list, with an explanation why they're ranked at their position. SWTVC & SWS 2024 March Madness Tournament Begins

  Every year, the SWTVC on Instagram does a Vintage Collection version of March Madness. If you want to join in on the voting, I'll add the article from BanthaSkull which has the Google Form link in it. And due to my attendance at Fan Expo New Orleans, I don't have an article completely ready to go, so once again, I'll do my own March Madness event settled by, you guessed it, coin flips! I will also be participating in the SWTVC March Madness poll and will do my Top 25 on here, since I want everyone who reads this to participate in that. 2024 Last Figure Standing

  Once again, Last Figure Standing is back for 2024! The rules are simple, 10 figures in order of preference. And another reminder this is for the Vintage Collection, I don't know if there is anything similar for the Black Series but if there is I'll share it here. Also note this was written in late July, as after SDCC, I have a few changes from last year's list since some of those are being made, but I don't see any changes for when this will start. And I should point out that voting hasn't started yet, but I am simply getting a jump start as I just got the VC Jabba the Hutt yesterday, and don't have time for a review and comparison to the 2010 Legacy Collection Jabba ready to go.
