VC Bo Katan Review

While technically I got this figure in hand before Christmas, and it should be considered a 2021 release, this is a figure that will soon start showing up in stores in 2022 (if it already hasn't). For a little over a decade, give or take a year, collectors wanted Bo Katan in the 3.75 inch scale ever since her 1st appearance in the 3rd season of Clone Wars. Yet her live action appearance in The Mandalorian is what paved the way for her to finally get an action figure! In the 6 inch Black Series. However, now she's in the Vintage Collection and while her Black Series counterpart is a great figure, the VC version is better. It's also one of the best VC figures ever made (100 percent true!), and will set a new tone going forward for 3.75 inch Star Wars figures for years to come.

With 16 POA, Bo is easily one of the most articulated 3.75 inch figures you will get. But what makes her truly unique and special is she actually has ball jointed and not ball socketed hips, which means that finally Star Wars is giving their figures GI Joe style leg articulation! And for her anesthetic, she looks like a normal human. As one commenter posted on a review site (happened to be posted by a woman, BTW) if Captain America has America's ass, Bo Katan has the VC's ass.

Bo comes with 2 blasters that easily fit into her hands and hip holsters, a jet pack that is also easily removed and does not fall out if you leave it in her back. Instead of a helmet fitting over her head, she has a helmeted and unhelmeted head, with the unhelmeted head sculpt getting rave reviews from actress Katee Sackhoff herself! It is one of the best head sculpts done, and it is better than the 6 inch version.

But the new hip articulation is what sets this apart. She still has the thigh swivels, but that articulation isn't needed here, but it is with the ball socket hips as seen on Stormtroopers, Jyn, Cassian, and Lando, etc. The deluxe Book of Boba Fett VC Boba Fett looks to have the swappable helmeted and unhelmeted head as well as ball socket hip joints, Kuiil from the Mandalorian, a figure in the same wave has them as well. Now that Hasbro has this, it's time to make this the new standard. And go back and give us Jedi Luke, Bespin Han, General Lando, Darth Vader, you get the idea. With all of this, it's easy to see why I'm a huge fan of this figure, Bo Katan is the best VC figure that has been made, and if this came out when I made my VC Top 25 list would have easily been number one. Sorry Yakface, you've been dethroned. I hope the picture comes out, trying to post that instead of a link to another website. Edit: posting the link since the picture didn't upload:
