Fan Fiction Update
Originally, I was indefinitely shelving my sequel trilogy Retcon fan fiction because I couldn't fit it into 3 parts, it ended up being 6 parts and I don't have the patience for it. So I put it off. Then I thought it would be a pipe dream. So I challenged myself to find another story. But then I kept going back to Rey time traveling. So I did what anybody who has something stuck in his head would do: I made a quick action figure custom (pics to come next week) of Rey, and suddenly I had inspiration! My initial idea flew out of my head and onto my notepad. Suddenly I had 3 stories, ready to go with a general guide. And just like that, I had my fan fiction. I will publish a prologue dealing with Rey and Finn (Finn isn't going to survive, sadly. But he can live in the new timeline 😁).
One of the biggest challenges was what to do with Rey's last name. There is no way she can call herself Rey Skywalker, or Rey from Jakku, Rey Nowhere, Rey Nobody, etc. But it didn't occur to me the most obvious name she should take: Kenobi. So not only would Rey show Luke his father's old lightsaber, her new last name could take him on a new journey. I had flirted with using Solo, Darklighter, Antilles, etc. But just as Ben Kenobi took Luke on his first adventure while beginning his training to be a Jedi, his 1st real adventure as a Jedi is with Rey Kenobi. Skywalker and Kenobi just go well together.
So the villain. The villain was always Abeloth because she was the most powerful villain in Legends, plus she was a missing link to Mortis as she gave birth to the Son & Daughter (in Legends continuity). Abeloth in my story is awakened after Palpatine's final death (in Episode 9) and soon after, begins haunting Rey's dreams. Then, her powers have fully grown 5 years after Episode 9, and she causes mass insanity not only to normal people in the galaxy but at Rey's Jedi Temple. Abeloth was my only choice, but I had to find a way for it to make enough sense that stopping her in the past would be necessary. What inspired me to use her was the scene in Ep 9 when Rey encountered her dark side self, the teeth and wide mouth looked very much like Abeloth.
Now while I'm using a Legends villain, I won't be using Legends characters. I have created a couple new characters, while using established characters like Ahoska, Ezra, Grogu and since he's been shown in Rebels. Grand. Admiral. Thrawn. Some characters will be inspired by Legends characters, but with different names.
So, here are my stories:
Prologue: Rey's fight with Abeloth and going back in time.
Chapter 1: The Hidden Evil. Palpatine's 2nd and final death from Luke with help from Anakin. Abeloth is awakened but is weak, and needs time for her powers to grow. This starts the day after Return of the Jedi.
Chapter 2: The First Jedi. Luke and Rey go on an Indiana Jones type story, right after Luke brings Grogu to the Jedi Temple he and Rey have built. 5 years after Endor.
Chapter 3: Balance of the Force. 3 years later, the final battle between the Jedi and Abeloth (who has followers of her own) and the New Republic takes on the Imperial Remnant in one last great battle. I'm still plotting out who lives or dies (the OT characters are safe) as this story isn't finished. But I do have the final scene already planned out ;)
The stories will be plot summaries, that's easier for me to write. Hope y'all enjoy it, the Prologue is coming soon!!
