Vintage Collection Marrok & Eleventh Brother Reviews

Since both Marrok and the Eleventh Brother are both Inquisitors, I'm doing a lot of combination shots for their joint review, similar to my review of Han Solo and Chewbacca from ANH. And a hint: one of these figures will DEFINITELY make my list for the best of 2026.

If there were 2 non Geonosis figures I was looking forward to, it was these 2 figures. Any chance to add new red blades to my collection is a welcome one, especially since my March Madness and LFS selections are mostly Jedi and Sith affiliated figures. Honestly, I had so much fun playing around with them after opening them, that I delayed the reviews because of it. Oh, and in MAKMCSWF review of the Eleventh Brother, he said he would be the last to do a review. I commented on his review video that I would be the last one to do a review, so here it is. Along with Marrok.

The articulation on both figures is amazing! None of the joints were too tight, so no need to dip them in just boiled water to loosen them up. Marrok doesn't have waist articulation, the Eleventh Brother does, and that's my only knock on Marrok. Depending on the pose, these figures have good balance, I had to lean them against the wall in both photos, but they stand okay. The Eleventh Brother has droid arms, which if you read the 2017 Vader comics came from Vader's training methods, he often cut off Inquisitor limbs. His hands could possibly be reused for a VC Lord Starkiller figure. As for Marrok, he's well sculpted as well. His paint apps match his appearance in the Maul series. If they wanted to make him from his appearance in Ahsoka (who eliminated both of these characters BTW), it would be easy for Hasbro to do.

The accessories for these figures are the same, with one exception: Eleventh Brother's cape isn't easily removable. Marrok's is, and I am choosing to let another figure use his cape, as I don't plan on displaying/using him wearing it. Their hilts can be stored on the figures without any effort, although I don't think that's how the Eleventh Brother displayed his lightsaber hilt, I needed the picture so that's what I went with. While the lightsabers themselves don't "spin", you can move their wrists to make them spin. And the less said about the ridiculous helicopter effect from the Rebels S2 finale (the only bad moment in the 2 best episodes of the series) the better. While Marrok can hold the lightsaber in either hand, the Eleventh Brother can only hold his in his right hand. I chose Maul to use for these shots since in the series, I think they both fight him (haven't seen it yet). As I've mentioned on BanthaSkull and sometimes on here, I've mentioned about using different or custom figures to represent these characters, and others which I'll show off below.

My Marrok custom can now be retired now that I have a VC Marrok. Since Marrok's mask is heavily influenced by Snake Eyes, I used a Rise of Cobra Snake Eyes head on a painted Neo Viper buck. Easy, quick and simple. Now, I'm not chucking my custom into the bush like MAKMCSWF does, so I need to rebrand him. For the Eleventh Brother I used a Fortnite Fusion action figure to sort of fill in for him. They do look kinda similar, paint apps aside. One error I made with Fusion was to take off the hood, which is glued to his head. Big mistake. But, I had hoped to get another Eleventh Brother to make a Kueller custom with some paint, but I'm not sure about that now. Fusion has a lighter colored version, similar to Darth Revan, so I'm probably making my Fusion either Kueller, or some new character I can make up.

Now, are these essential figures for collectors? It depends. A VC numbers enthusiast will want them to keep up, a Prequel Era collector might want them if they loved the Maul or Tales Of The Jedi series. Me, they're red blades and that's enough. I'm getting them! Are they well made? Yep. Fun to pose and play with? You bet! Which one do I like better? Marrok. While the Eleventh Brother has the coolest helmet design, Marrok is like Snake Eyes, one of my favorite GI Joe figures, so that's one reason why I like him. If I had to pick the top figures of 2026, Marrok is on my list, ahead of the Eleventh Brother. And you better believe I want to get another of each of these figures.

LAGNIAPPE SECTION

Yesterday, I made a road trip out to Lafayette, Louisiana and a store called The Toy Room. It takes me an hour and a half to two hours to get there, but it's often worth the trip out. My original goal was praying they had a MOTU Origins King Hiss so I can replace my broken one, but no luck. That's going to have to be an eBay find. However, I had some luck finding older figures, and one of which has a bonus. Hard-core collectors reading this will be able go tell once they see the figure's package. And yes, it's all Star Wars related.

1. Emperor's Royal Guard (5 POA)

I opened older figures, including one of these guys. He was falling off the card so I got this for $2. Now I have a Royal Guard for my Prequel Era Palpy's (Palpies?). He just needs to stand there, and he does that well.

2. Episode 3 Royal Guard

I found one of these figures at a show a whole back, and I wanted to get another one to do customs of Kir Kanos and Carnor Jax. I really wished the VC ERG kept the armor underneath as these figures do. Either way, they'll be perfect for my future Crimson Empire customs. Also have 2 of the Blue Guards, and they're in my Prequel Era bin.

3. Ketwol

For years I saw this figure and passed on him. But once I found out he's in the Cantina and not the dude who raised the roof in the Podrace Arena for The Phantom Menace, I broke down and bought him. Once I get the Cantina bar built, he's going there. But my dilemma is where to keep my BB-8 display while I put it together. My original Cantina display area I had to sell off. Plus it's hot outside and heat makes me lazy. I'm in no rush to build it, but Ketwol goes to my Cantina figures box, which I haven't opened yet. Once I open them, I'll do quick reviews of each figure.

4. Jeremiah Colton

Now you may be asking: WTH is this?! Well, if you saw ROTS, he piloted Bail Organa's ship when he rescued Yoda and Obi-Wan. But he was plated by Jeremy Bulloch, who played the Imperial Officer in ESB that hauls Leia away as she warns Luke about the trap he's about to enter. Oh, and some dude named Boba Fett in the same movie. He has decent articulation since he's a 2009 Legacy Collection figure, plus a build a droid part for the YV Hunter droid (right arm). He's hot better articulation than the AOTC versions of the characters Anthony Daniels and Ahmed Best figures from the Saga Era of 2002-2005. I've wanted this figure for a long time, and now I've got it. Definitely in my Prequel bin.

5. Saga Legends Hoth Han Solo and Clone Wars Chewbacca

Jackpot! Now, I don't really go for Hoth figures, but after finding a loose and complete Hoth Luke a few weeks ago, well, I needed a Hoth Han Solo. And I can't pass up Han without getting a Chewbacca. Fortunately, the only one they had was an animated style Clone Wars Chewbacca from 2012. Chewie goes in my Prequel bin, but since be came with 2 bowcasters, I'm giving my OT/New Republic Chewie the main weapon, and the rocket launching bowcaster can be kept my CW Chewbacca. Eagle eyed collectors can see that the Saga Legends Han has some extras: spare weapons. A disruptor, a Jango Fett blaster, a couple small pistols and 2 Republic Commando heavy blasters. I gave the Jango Fett blaster to a Jyn Erso I'm making a custom, and the blaster is a perfect fit in Jyn's holster. I'll take pictures of them later. Now I need to find some more Saga Legends figures off eBay...

So The Toy Room had a lot of GI Joe Classified figures, and had a McFarlane 7 inch Joker figure inspired by the 1989 Batman movie, but at $40 I felt the price was too high. There were modern Super Powers versions of the 1980's Batman, and a Jason Todd Robin action figure. There were no GI Joe movie figures, but the highlights were a couple Crimson Guard Troopers, which if I didn't find Han and Chewbacca I would have bought. On the MOTU side, a lot of 7 inch scale figures, none from the movie of course. On the Star Wars side there was a Purchase of the Droids pack, but sadly no Aunt Beru POTF2 figure, otherwise I would have bought that. There's a lot of POTF2 and TPM 3.75 inch figures there, plus some 2002-2006 Era figures. There was a spare Admiral Ozzel figure I did regret leaving there. I passed on the Sixer Darth Malak (selling there for $25, down from the $35 it was the last time I was there), but if you are missing some Mando's they have them there in that scale. Plus an unmasked Sixer Kylo Ren. On the VC side, they had a SDCC exclusive Krrsantan, plus the normal Krrsantan, Ahsoka with Grogu, Tusken with Massiff and Incinerator Trooper with Grogu. There are also plenty of RO Stormtroopers ($12-$15 depending on the card condition). Honestly, they got cleaned out on VC figures since my last visit, but there are some good finds. They had a few modern POA box sets (Luke, Bossk, Vader, IG-88 plus the Rebel heroes pack), and color changing droid depot figures and color change droid factory, getting the 2 sets there and the factory would run you $220. I haven't checked the eBay prices for it, but if you go to the Toy Room, they have fair prices on all the figures, and if they had a non battle damaged 1986 Transformers movie Optimus Prime, I would have bought him and the non battle damaged Megatron figures. Oh, and for a good and cheap cup of coffee, there is a drive thru only coffee shop called Scooter's Coffee. A small cup cost me only $1.09, and it did the job getting me back home.

MORE LAGNIAPPE

Last Sunday I opened a bunch of figures I've kept aside for a while. Some were Star Wars figures, but I opened a Sketch Series He-Man figure, and the 1st modern Super Powers figure I've opened since I bought the figures a couple years ago. So I opened the black suit Batman. I pulled out some of my early to late 90's Kenner Batman figures, and the modern Super Powers Batman fit well with them, for the most part. Poison Ivy is taller, and Mr Freeze (both Ivy and Freeze are from the Batman & Robin movie line) towers over Batman. But the Joker from the Dark Knight collection is roughly the same size. Same with the Batman Returns Penguin and Catwoman figures. Now I can open my Super Powers Riddler, Bizarro, Rebirth and 1980's Superman, Knightfall Nightwing, and Tim Drake Robin. Oh, and Wonder Woman, Barry Allen Flash, John Stewart Green Lantern, Deathstroke and Darkseid. I'm still ticked that there won't be modern updates to the Joker, Penguin, robot Brainiac and Hawkman. There's a point that I'm getting to, and it's Star Wars related.

I also opened a bunch of Star Wars toys, and have made a couple quick customs. I opened a spare GI Joe Retaliation Lady Jaye and put her head on a Jyn Erso figure. The Lady Jaye hands hold Jyn's blaster much better than Jyn, so I'm attempting a hand swap soon. Lady Jaye's hands can also hold the Jango Fett pistol, so I gave my custom Jyn that weapon. I have paints to alter the boots, and vest to make a new character. And, I had an unlikely custom perfect idea. I had a spare Director Krennic figure, plus a spare Black Series ERG from the $4 Wal-Mart clearance of early 2018. I had no idea the heads could be swapped. So I put Krennic's head on one of my Royal Guards, and the RG head on the Krennic buck, with a near perfect fit on Krennic's barbell neck joint. The Krennic head fits perfectly on the VC/Black Series ERG buck. I may add some grey to the temples of the ERG head to make a Moff Adelhard from the Battle of Jakku comic series (and my custom Jyn might be Rynn Zenat from the same series) or another Admiral, Moff, Grand Moff, etc.
