Mystery Post!

I wanted to do something different for this review, and now you see the mystery is solved! I needed to wait for these figures to arrive, Han was first so I was able to knock out Greedo, but I needed Chewbacca to be in hand so I could review both figures. So how do they measure up, what do I like and dislike about them, but the most important question is....can they fit in my Millennium Falcon shell?! Read on to find out!

The good news? Yes, they fit. If I had the canopy I could say it with complete confidence, but they fit well. You have to keep the legs straight and don't bend the knees to get them in. If there's anything on the BMF that needs to be changed, that's it. And as far as the others you need for ANH:

I couldn't get Luke to sit down, but Ben could. So, if you wanted to recreate the scene on the Falcon when they approached the Death Star, you now have it. Done and done! And I'll add a couple more pictures before I start the reviews.

CHEWBACCA

From the waist down, Chewbacca is an all new figure. From the waist up, he's a re-use of an older Chewbacca figure, originally from the VOTC days. He's got the standard 17 POA, but some articulation points like his head are very limited. He does have multiple chest articulation points. The only problem I have are his hands, and it's something I'm disappointed Hasbro didn't correct here. The original Chewbacca VOTC sculpt was good, for 2005. But with modern technology, Chewbacca lacks the ball jointed wrists most new figures have. Instead, it's swivel wrists. But the paint apps and sculpt detail are excellent.

I brought out VC 141 to compare the 2 figures. Chewie is on the 1978 Kenner style card, and if you're looking for a better display figure to keep carded, then with VC 381 you have your wish. Next to other figures, he can easily tower over Leia, toss a Stormtrooper and could reject Black Krrsantan if they played basketball. But is he the tallest standard release VC figure?

Yep. He could also reject Vader in a basketball one on one. My only complaint about his weapon, a bowcaster, was that I couldn't put it together so I used the one from the VOTC Chewbacca for the shots. He can't do a THWG like I would like him to do, but for a non professional photographer like me, it's adequate for this review.

While this is a good figure, Chewbacca from a collecting standpoint is NOT definitive. He needs at the least new hands to join the definitive and done camp. Now we need ESB & ROTJ versions as well as a Solo Chewbacca. His only accessory is the bowcaster, and the bandolier may be removable but I am not tempting fate. At $20 a figure I really don't want to know. But it doesn't hinder any body movements so that's a plus, but he's a great upgrade, as seen in the comparison with VC 141. So definitely get him for any Star Wars collector. And he's available online for standard retail price.

HAN SOLO

The last picture above I really wanted a great shot of the head sculpt, but that was the best one I could get. It does look better than the Endor Han, or as I call it, the Han that must not be named and is now in non Carbonite storage. Unlike the Chewbacca figure which is well balanced, Han sadly isn't. So you'll need a stand if displaying him loose. But he's got a good range on articulation. He's got the standard 17 POA, and for once I didn't have to boil up water and toss him in to deal with way too tight joints, although his left elbow moves a bit too tight for my comfort. But his paint apps, and sculpt are well done. Except for 2 parts. Hard core collectors will know what I'm talking about.

Han has 2 accessories. His blaster, which remarkabley has a painted handle, rare for most new VC figures. His vest is removable, so you could swap it out with any other removable vest Han to see how you like him. I'm okay with the vest he came with. Maybe later I'll see if the Bepsin Han cloth jacket from the POTF2 Princess Leia Collection fits, once I find it. But the glaring problem on Han is...the wrists. The sleeves don't fully extend to the wrists, so it makes for a collecting eye sore. To others, but honestly, I'm not to bothered by it. Han rolled back his sleeves a bit in ANH, and my guess is for a gun well Han, who wore gloves, they needed to do this on order to make that gloved Han one day. But the good news is, because of this Han it will be easier to get updated Bespin and Endor Han Solo's in the future. He's definitive, but bring on the Stormtrooper Belt Han, and the gun well Han! And while this is an improvement on previous Han's, they still have an issue with Harrison Ford's likeness.

My first 2026 review will be Ben Kenobi, and you can see the "custom" robe I have for him. But we have the ANH Mains. Except for Threepio and I'll say Artoo as well. But, after a long wait, we can check these off. For now.

Thanks for reading! A special thanks to Chris and Nomad at BanthaSkull for allowing me to post this in the comments section! Please share this link on your social media accounts so I can get more readers!

No post next week due to Christmas (Merry Christmas!), but in 2 weeks my best and worst of 2025.
