Last Figure Standing Begins; Figure Hauls

Image
Last Figure Standing has begun with a livestream yesterday! Details on submitting your Top 10 lists will be linked further down, and I'll link a copy of the livestream as well. My LFS list needs to be updated as Shaak Ti is coming to the VC in 2026, so I need to find another Jedi. Who will it be? I'll post that below. But also, I want to share some recent toy hauls, plus a very important repair job on a certain Jedi Legend.  HAULS/FIXES/CUSTOMS  1. JEDI LEGEND OBI-WAN FIX Using a dremmel I ordered, I shaved off the excess sleeves so his hands could at least move better. I put the new figure into just boiled water, removed the hands, and cut down the sleeves, then slightly sanded where I cut. Not bad for my 2nd time using a dremmel. I practiced on the damaged one to get it right. But I won't attempt a THWG with this figure, despite shaving the sleeves since that's how I broke the last figures hand. Lesson learned. It's also why I haven't reviewed the Anakin/Vade...

Disney Era VC Wish List.

Image
Before I begin this post, I want to clarify a few things. First, 75% of Disney Star Wars is garbage in my opinion. The only good things have been Rebels, Rogue One, both seasons of Andor, and the 1st 2 seasons of The Mandalorian. So the first question someone will ask me is "Why don't you come up with something better than what Disney has done?!" I did. I'll post the link to it at the end of this post. And the next question someone will ask: "If you hate Disney Star Wars so much, why are you making an action figure wish list for it?!" Another question I can easily answer. From a design standpoint, there are some great potential action figures that deserve to be made. And while I'm not a fan of the source materials for the most part, I am not arrogant enough to believe there aren't fans of those projects. There are. Will they also buy figures? That's still up for debate. So, a question posed to the Hasbro team at Star Wars Celebration by Jason, a...

Time To Be Serious About Future HasLab's

Image
Well, the campaign is officially over! And the HasLab Gunship has funded! So that makes the VC a perfect 5 out of 5 in funding. And on Wednesday, we got the final count:  So the 1st tier ended up getting funded! The good news is that the other 2 tiered figures have a chance to make the VC because they're essential to the Chancellor's Arrest, but my guess is they'll be on ROTS cards, and not on AOTC cards. So, that's the good thing. But this campaign was anything but "good". I saw things from this collecting community that briefly popped up during The Ghost and Cantina HasLab campaigns that came out in full force when the Gunship was announced. So this post is meant to be POSITIVE. But there are some things that have me ticked off. So, this will be my view of the campaign, and what direction that Hasbro needs to do with future VC HasLab's.  My Gunship HasLab Views: 1. The negative Vintage Collection community rose up from the depths of collecting Hell.  Th...

Merrin VC Review

Image
Okay, for REAL this time! If you recall in my Cantina unboxing post, I teased that it was really a review of Merrin. Fortunately I had everything shot in case the Cantina didn't arrive as planned, so I had this review planned as a backup. How does she rate as a figure, and what feature about her disappointed me? Read on to fund out!  First impressions: she's well sculpted, and easy to pose. Thankfully I didn't have to submerge her in just boiled water to loosen any tight joints. She's got the modern articulation standards (17 POA, barbell hips, ball jointed shoulders, elbows, knees, waist and swivel wrists since she's a lady), and is remarkably well balanced. Some of her poses I didn't have her leaning against the back wall. But, if displaying her loose you might want to invest in a stand anyway, in case she does tip over. Her card is good for showing her in "action" but without seeing her in the game, I can't really judge the image.  She's v...
