No Post Due To Hurricane Francine

The headline says it all: helped my family with storm prep and they're safe which was more important than anything else. None of their homes were damaged, and that is the absolute best news. But there are people who did get major damage, and if you would like to help, I suggest donating to Red Cross, here's a link:

The big news of the week was the passing of James Earl Jones. If you watched the Empire of Dreams documentary you find out how he became Vader's voice, and something I didn't know about him was he had a stuttering problem when he was younger. Not only being the voice of Vader, he was in 2 of my favorite baseball movies: Field of Dreams & The Sandlot. He was Harrison Ford's boss in Patriot Games (and was in Hunt For Red October when Jack Ryan was played by Alec Baldwin). Besides Vader, he voiced Mustafa in both the original animated movie and live action version. His guest starring role as himself on Big Bang Theory was one of the funniest moments on that show, especially pranking Carrie Fisher, who hadn't met until the episode was filmed. A great actor, but a better man. Prayers for his family and friends, RIP James Earl Jones.

PulseCon wrapped up, with some good news for the VC, and Black Series lines. A new playset to possibly pair with the Cantina (includes a "over served" Jawa), and first looks at VC Dedra Meero (good head sculpt but kinda meh), Anakin fron the Ahsoka Clone Wars flashback (nailed it!) & ANH Luke Skywalker (I want this in hand, some collectors have voiced concern over the head sculpt, but photos often don't do justice to figures, how it looks in hand is the most important thing). You can also get Luke's X-Wing too, now we need Vader's TIE Fighter to pair it with.

That wraps up things for this week. I'll have a review or two ready for next Sunday.
