The Star Wars That Makes Me Happy

Image
As you know by now, Disney has canceled the Acolyte. While personally I'm not a fan of that show, but there is a passionate (albeit small) fan base that has supported it, and are extremely unhappy. For those fans, there could be an official way to continue the story: books or comics. Plus there's always the fan fiction route. I have my own Star Wars AU post ROTJ, so I can in a way relate to those fans. While I have done a blog post on figures that make me happy, and will post a few more of those in the future, I thought I'd post what it is about Star Wars that makes me happy. I hope this provides a good discussion point in comments here, or on BanthaSkull or X, or whatever other social media this blog link gets posted to (please feel free to do this!). 1. The Movies. When I say the movies I mean Episode's 1-6. I'd add Solo and Rogue One to the list as well. Neither of those 2 newer films are perfect, but they do fit into the story of the first 6 movies. Jabba The Hutt VC Review

Image
When Hasbro made Boba Fett's Palace Playset, Vintage Collection collectors wanted to swap out Boba for Jabba. The problem was, the last mass release of Jabba in the 1:18 scale was from 2010. If you got Jabba's Sail Barge you could swap out that Jabba over the 2010 version. Recently, Hasbro has made a new Jabba, one that I'm told can properly fit into the Palace Playset. But honestly, I'm not completely happy with it. I'll explain why, of course. But before I go into the Vintage Collection Jabba, I'll take a look back at the 2010 Jabba.  But before I begin, where I am displaying Jabba isn't exactly an easy to photograph area, so I'm doing the photos on my BB-8 Playset, since these sets surprisingly fit, I just couldn't fit all the figures I wanted to take photos with, except for the essential ones to interact with the set. I'm no expert when it comes to photos, as you can tell, LOL! But I'll do my best to use all of my photos and not screens

2024 Last Figure Standing

Image
Once again, Last Figure Standing is back for 2024! The rules are simple, 10 figures in order of preference. And another reminder this is for the Vintage Collection, I don't know if there is anything similar for the Black Series but if there is I'll share it here. Also note this was written in late July, as after SDCC, I have a few changes from last year's list since some of those are being made, but I don't see any changes for when this will start. And I should point out that voting hasn't started yet, but I am simply getting a jump start as I just got the VC Jabba the Hutt yesterday, and don't have time for a review and comparison to the 2010 Legacy Collection Jabba ready to go. Now, not all of these figures will be new sculpts, and of course I have just about all eras of Star Wars represented in this list. 10. Rey (Episode 8 Throne Room Duel). I hate the Disney Trilogy, but I want this figure since Rey looks like a Jedi. I wouldn't say no to a Rey Skywal

Princess Leia Organa VC 316 Review

Image
After nearly 20 years(I won'tcount the 5 POA version from around 2014), Hasbro has finally made a new version of Leia Organa from A New Hope. And with an iconic VC number, 316 (Organa 3:16!), this Leia figure delivers a lot, however there are a couple areas where it doesn't. From the loose figure shown above with the carded version you may be able to see what that is. But I will say that it's worth the wait!  It may not look like it, but Leia has 17 POA. Her upper body has a full range of motion. However, her plastic skirt does inhibit lower body articulation. Which means she can't sit down, and it makes moving her legs difficult. But her legs can move, and her knees can bend. The overall sculpt however is amazing! There is a lot of detail on her outfit, from the foods and creases, even down to her belt. In the photos below you can get an idea on how well she moves. She has barbell hips, the double socket neck and head joint, plus ball jointed shoulders, elbows, waist

Star Wars 50th Anniversary VC Wish List

Yes, this is 3 years away, but with 18-24 months to plan a wave of action figures, the perfect time to make a wish list for the 50th anniversary of Star Wars is right now!! The good news is, most ANH Mains will already be done at this time. That doesn't mean they're exempt from my wish list. There are a fee things I'd like to see get repacked as well, but this will be mostly new figures, vehicles and playsets. I have 4 categories: basic figures, deluxe figures/Multipacks,  vehicles and playsets. BASIC FIGURES 1. Wedge Antilles. While many would be happy with Biggs Darklighter, I prefer Wedge since he not only survives, but could legitimately get a new X-Wing fighter. 2. Greedo on original Kenner card. Greedo is coming with the Cantina but on an alternate card. Enough time should have passed for Hasbro to now issue him on his original Kenner card. 3. Grand Moff Tarkin. His original VC figure blows chunks. The new officer buck is perfect for him now, if he hasn't alr

The Good Times In Collecting

Image
After multiple weeks of multiple blog posts, and a huge SDCC wrap up post last week,  I'm sticking to just one normal length post this week. If you've just started reading my blog this year, you know I mainly collect Vintage Collection figures, and am at the near end of collecting Black Series figures, with my final preorder arriving in later this year. 2024 didn't exactly start off well for VC collectors, but over the next few months there are lots of new products coming on preorder, which is nice. But finding stuff in stores is even better. So today I'm going to show off what I've found in some kinda close to me toy stores, both VC and Black Series, plus a couple preorders that have arrived. But what's best about the majority of these collecting finds is I got a great deal without breaking the bank. Which is often difficult to do. This is mainly Black Series heavy, but there's enough VC to keep it interesting. BRICK & MORTAR Or as my good friend Ja
