Another Random Blog Post

 I debated whether or not to do a blog post this week. My post last week was Shadowbanned on social media, and honestly I was worn out, and didn't feel like tagging friends to get views. It's also Super Bowl Sunday, and I know views will be down since nobody wants to do heavy reading, unless they don't like American football, a shout out to my favorite person in New Zealand, Jason, aka Middle Aged Kiwi Man Collecting Star Wars Figures (check out his YouTube channel and subscribe!). But since I have a wedding to attend next weekend, I didn't want to go two weeks without a blog entry. So, it's time for another random blog post about random Star Wars takes.

MY FINAL STAR WARS PHYSICAL MEDIA PURCHASE?

Yep, you read that right. I am currently watching the 1st 2 seasons of The Mandalorian on Blu Ray, and it's safe to say it's the best live action Star Wars Disney has done. But, I doubt I'll expand my physical media beyond this, unless I get a 4K TV and a 4K player (or if Resistance Season 2 comes out, yes I liked the show, and interacting with the cast on social media). I'm happy with Blue Ray, for now. But as far as Star Wars goes, I have the 1st 6 George Lucas films, Rogue One, 1st 2 seasons of Mando, Rebels and Clone Wars seasons 1-5 and the Micro Series. That's it. Now, to be fair, I liked Andor and Ahsoka, but they just don't live up to me wanting to watch them over and over again. Yes, I liked Solo, and sometimes add it to my watch throughs of Star Wars, but honestly I can do without it. I won't get rid of that Blue Ray though. Just won't watch it as often.

A STAR WARS LEGENDS VEHICLE!

The new VC E-Wing is a gift to fans of Star Wars Legends! Yes, it appeared in Ahoska, and will even have the Ahsoka name on the box, but it first appeared in Dark Empire, and replaced the Y-Wing as the primary bomber for the New Republic. While recent VC reveals underwhelmed collectors, this reveal fired them back up! Included is the Droid, which strongly resembles the Vintage Kenner R2-D2 (named KE4-N4, the female pilot, Lt Callahan will come out around the same time the ship drops). This is exclusive to Hasbro Pulse and should ship December 1st. But the preorder window is limited, you only have until March 5 to order this! For a Legends version, get the R7 Build A Droid to place in the droid socket.

STAR WARS FAN FICTION READING LIST

I enjoy fan fictions, for the most part. Some go wild a bit with characterizations and scenarios, but some have some real good premises. So what has been on my reading list? Here it is:

1. Last Hope (archiveofourown.com). This has Luke travel back in time to the Clone Wars after Ben Solo falls to the dark side. Luke has a chance to change events of the end of the Clone Wars. Great story, but the author has a hard time finding an end point (like the Return of the King film did with LOTR). At this writing there is another chapter left, according to the author.

2  Heir To The Empire (archiveofourown.com) This is a retelling of Heir To The Empire incorporating Disney Canon elements and characters. It's almost a retelling of the Ahsoka series, but it also follows events from the original novel too. It's currently on Chapter 10, and I don't know how long the author intends to go on this, but it's not finished yet.

3. Ahsoka (But Actually Good) (archiveofourown.com). This is a retelling of the Ahsoka series, except Luke Skywalker has a bigger role. Only a couple chapters are done, but so far it's good!

4. Interregenum. (archiveofourown.com) This story is on other Star Wars fan fiction sites, but it is completely on archiveofourown.com. It's currently on the 3rd book. This story follows Legends to perfection, but instead of Dark Empire happening, this story happens. If you liked Legends and hated Dark Empire, this story is for you. And if you hate catsuit Mara Jade, this art below shows how she's dressed, and yes I would love it if Hasbro made this version of Mara Jade an action figure:

BLACK SERIES REVIEWS

Yes, I will do some soon. Things are slow in the VC right now, but I have plans to do a few Black Series figure reviews. I plan on doing Darth Malgus, Count Dooku and Grand Moff Tarkin, plus the Grand Inquisitor and Fifth Brother. Maybe even the Ezra Bridger Lothal figure too, and Old Master Maul, and maybe some others. Expect the first ones to come in March as I start my own March Madness Tournament, independent of the one SWTVC is doing. I thought about doing my brackets now, but I'll wait until March.

I've given up on the Marvel Star Wars Omnibus parts 1-3 as that price range means I need to sell a kidney to purchase.

I plan on finishing "The Choice" but will likely post it on archiveofourown.com and on there if I decide to write again. Planning stories is easy, finding time to write them out is the hard part.
