Krrsantan Deluxe VC Review
Ever since he appeared in the new (2015) Marvel Comics, collectors and fans wanted Black Krrsantan. He's a Wookiee bounty hunter, and kicks butt all over the galaxy. He even encountered Obi-Wan while he was in exile on Tattooine! A Black Series figure was done...and it was terrible. Basically a repainted Chewbacca figure. Hasbro corrected that mistake for the Black Series, and decided to share the wealth for the Vintage Collection with an all new sculpt for Krrsantan. Of course it helped he appeared in the live action series Book of Boba Fett.
Sporting the standard 17 POA, Krrsantan also has the new barbell style hips, so he's flexible but the sculpted fur does block some movement, but it doesn't make me disappointed. He can stand on his own, but leans forward, and that is due to the bulk, Krrsantan definitely doesn't skip gym days! So for most shots I had to lean him on the wall to get decent pictures. As you can see in one of the pictures below he takes up the entire cockpit space on the Millennium Falcon:
The sculpt and paint applications are excellent! There are areas where his fur changes colors, just as there is in live action. While Chewbacca is taller, and leaner, Krrsantan has more bulk, which is why he's on the deluxe card to begin with. One thing can be said for Hasbro the last couple years: they do a great job on their newly tooled figures! There is a SDCC exclusive version that has more weapons, and a roaring face sculpt, this version has his mouth closed. Below I have some figures with him, including the most recent Boba Fett figure:
Since Krrsantan is deluxe, he comes with some extra accessories. He comes with 4 extra hands: 2 fists and 2 wide grip hands. Honestly, it took some effort to do hand swaps as I felt they would break so I decided against putting in the wide grip hands. He comes with his long blaster rifle, an electric effect which I promptly lost, a meiloorun (a fruit, and if you ordered the HasLab Ghost you'll need this since Hera also likes this fruit), and a tall mug so he can enjoy the Star Wars version of beer.
While not an essential figure for your collection, I can see Hasbro using this buck to make Tarfful from Revenge of the Sith, as well as some Wookiee Warriors. But for long time collectors it gives hope that an all new Chewbacca could one day come to pass as the current VC Chewie's are based off of a buck from 2004. I would rather him with extras as a deluxe figure as I've pointed out he's too large to be on a standard VC card. For loose display options pair him with any BOBF display, or a comics based one with Dr Aphra and her kill droids. A good figure, but the deluxe price may turn some off to it.
Coming next week, The Grand Inquisitor! I got him in yesterday! Thanks for reading! Please share this post on your social media accounts so I can get more readers!
