My own VC March Madness Tournament!

 Okay, since the NCAA Tournament and the SWTVC  March Madness is over (congrats to Count Dooku, this year's winner!), I thought I would do my own version of the VC March Madness but do actual regions, instead of just a list of figures. They are broken into 4 categories: Disney, OT, PT and Expanded Universe. But instead of 64, I will only do 32. So how to decide a winner? Coin toss. I was going to do a best 2 out of 3, but I'm lazy. One match up, one toss. The figures I have listed have yet to appear in the Vintage Collection and they must be all new sculpts, the same rule as the recent SW VC March Madness poll. So here are my contestants:


Expanded Universe

So a simple flip of a quarter determines who wins. The match ups are 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6 and 4 vs 5. Higher seed is always heads. If the top seeds are eliminated the next highest seed goes against the lowest seed. Once the Final Four figures are selected, the bracket goes OT vs Disney and EU vs PT. Sounds simple enough, right?! Let's go with the Disney bracket first:

And now to consult with noted fake Tournament Bracket analyst Huge Ass. So Huge, how did this bracket shape out?

HA: Well the lower seeds pulled some incredible first round upsets! I was shocked to see both Rey selections won out. Are you sure there was no bias in this?!

Me: Hey, just because I'm infatuated with Daisy Ridley doesn't mean I'm biased! It's not my fault Rey won the damn coin flip 2 times!!


Disney Round 2:

5. BB-8 vs 7. Grand Inquisitor

Disney Regional Champ

Winner: Rey Throne Room

HA: Fixed! You clearly wanted Rey Throne Room all along!

Me: No, if it was truly fixed Kylo/Ben would have won the damn thing!  Moving on....

Prequel Region

HA: Talk about upset city!! Plo Koon beating Palpatine is the equivalent of Villanova beating Georgetown in 1985! And Stass Allie, a no named no line speaking Jedi beats Padme!

Me: So while I have a huge crush on Natalie Portman this bracket isn't rigged?

HA: Bro if she saw you she'd ignore you!

Me: Okay you have a point.

Round 2

Winner: Stass Allie

5. Plo Koon vs 6. Captain Typho
Winner: Plo Koon

HA: Wow! Stass Allie is like the 2023 Princeton team, shocking win over a SWTVC March Madness winner in Count Dooku! And Plo Koon has some staying power!

Prequel Bracket Championship

5. Plo Koon vs 7. Stass Allie
Winner: Plo Koon

HA: Plo Koon is a fan favorite, and a Dave Filoni favorite. Can you believe Dave Filoni lied to Katee Sackoff about the Jedi being Plo Koon and NOT Luke Skywalker?!

Me: Well, yeah. Katee wouldn't spoil the reveal, but Dave probably didn't know that at the time. Like the time he forgot Padme had met Shmi and had to be reminded of this by Sam Witwer. I mean she didn't spoil Starbuck's fate on BSG!


Expanded Universe

HA: I haven't seen anyone with the initials KK having this much luck since Kathleen Kennedy!

Me: Finally a 1 vs 2 match up!!

EU Championship

Me: Honestly, I was hoping Mara would have won.

HA: Kyle Katarn clearly deserved the win. Mara has had 3 figures, Kyle only 2.

Original Trilogy Bracket

2. Leia vs 7. Hammerhead
Winner: Leia

3. Ben Kenobi vs 6. Tarkin

HA: Tessek beating Luke surprised me, both were worthy. But Han beating the Tonnika Sister?!

Me: Coin flips were fair. But honestly I wanted Tessek and Hammerhead to win!

Me: No, a blaster! And we got an action figure of a copy repairman in Prune Face!

HA: Well, I for one am happy that a Legacy character won this tournament! It's like that feeling of happiness when Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, or UCLA wins the Big Dance! Or when a Big 10 team wins the Natty in College Football!

Me: Just remember the 2019 LSU team was the best EVER National Champion. Beat 7 Top 10 teams, and all possible individual awards. Also the Big 10 is the SEC's bitch in football and none of those teams you mentioned are in this year's Final Four! Don't let the door hit your Huge Ass when you leave!

HA: Well!? I know I'm not wanted here! SEC hooligan! (Leaves, door hits his huge ass)

SWTVC & SWS 2024 March Madness Tournament Begins

  Every year, the SWTVC on Instagram does a Vintage Collection version of March Madness. If you want to join in on the voting, I'll add the article from BanthaSkull which has the Google Form link in it. And due to my attendance at Fan Expo New Orleans, I don't have an article completely ready to go, so once again, I'll do my own March Madness event settled by, you guessed it, coin flips! I will also be participating in the SWTVC March Madness poll and will do my Top 25 on here, since I want everyone who reads this to participate in that. 2024 Last Figure Standing

  Once again, Last Figure Standing is back for 2024! The rules are simple, 10 figures in order of preference. And another reminder this is for the Vintage Collection, I don't know if there is anything similar for the Black Series but if there is I'll share it here. Also note this was written in late July, as after SDCC, I have a few changes from last year's list since some of those are being made, but I don't see any changes for when this will start. And I should point out that voting hasn't started yet, but I am simply getting a jump start as I just got the VC Jabba the Hutt yesterday, and don't have time for a review and comparison to the 2010 Legacy Collection Jabba ready to go.
