Random Thoughts June 13th Thru June 19th

Another week left before the Obi-Wan miniseries wraps up, and I'm hoping to binge watch it sometime next week. I know some little things but I'm ignoring the opinions of others about it, once I watch for myself I'll be the judge on whether it's good or bad. So the moral of the story is watch it yourself and be the judge. Don't let others influence hoe you perceive things. There is a Jedi lesson in that somewhere. Moving on.

New Black Series pre-orders, like, 3! Only 1 for the VC but it's Darth Vader and according to Emily one of Hasbro's toy designers it's a brand new sculpt for Vader! Check out the Hasbro Pulse channel on YouTube for the Vader reveal. One of the Black Series reveals was Imperial Officer Tala, the 1st female officer in a uniform, not counting Captain Phasma as she wore Stormtrooper armor. Yet no officers in the VC. Just saying, Hasbro. Tala would be a good addition to the VC. So would Krennic, Piett, Veers and Ozzel. Who are also all in the Black Series.

On comics I've still been focusing only on Star Wars monthly and Darth Vader, which is breaking tradition and not ending at issue 25. In the recent issue (23) of Vader he is reunited with a grown up Kitster & Wald, even saving their lives! Nice to see a connection to Anakin's childhood friends! But I might pick up Bounty Hunters number 25 as Valance will battle the Knights of Ren. I find that interesting, but Marvel or Disney Plus needs to do a Knights of Ren miniseries, these guys are interesting. Vader hinted that they were once powerful and prominent but in the age of the Empire, they are basically space pirates. So what happened?! We know how Ben Solo became Kylo Ren, and who the Knights were after Endor. I have a fan theory on who they were and who founded them.

Speaking of fan theories I have enjoyed my personal Fan Canon. I'm enjoying various fan fictions, not the pornos, but good story ideas from fans. I might start reviewing a couple just for fun. One sort of alternate universe is my self proclaimed Fimoniverse which is based off what Dave Filoni has started with Rebels, especially the episode "A World Between Worlds" which had Ezra "change" Ahsoka's fate as I believe she was to meet her end at Malachor at the hands of Darth Vader. But that ripple of saving her life created an alternate timeline, one in which Maul finds Obi-Wan on Tatooine. But instead of seeking revenge he sees how far he has sunk, and vows to build a new criminal empire, but first has to take care of Qi'ra for betraying him. After Endor, Luke and Ahsoka meet for the first time. The Empire rallies behind Grand Vizier Sate Pestage, who is being controlled from a distance by Grand Admiral Thrawn. Han and Leia have a son, Anakin Solo who is born just as the 1st season of The Mandalorian begins. Oh, and how much more fun would it have been in The Book of Boba Fett finale if Luke had brought Grogu back to Tatooine so that Grogu could see Din Djarin, but also help Boba and Din fight the Pike Syndicate? And Luke realizes that it's okay for Grogu to be attached to Din, but that Din needs Luke to teach him how to use the Darksaber so he goes along with Grogu and follows Luke back to his Temple. Yes I've thought about this A LOT. I still think Din seeks out Luke in Mando Season 3 so that he can teach him how to use the Darksaber. It's crazy I know, but it is a fan creation, and it's different.
So later on today, a couple Kenner reviews of FX-7 & 2-1B in a single post. I'll do C-3PO and R2-D2 in a single post next week as I get into the main ESB figures. Also why I think the Orginal 96 in the VC won't happen, and maybe another surprise post. Enjoy Star Wars Sunday, and thanks for reading!
