Random Thoughts May 16-May 23

Well, another week has passed, and some interesting tidbits have been dropped before Celebration Anaheim: a Vanity Fair article previewing the upcoming streaming shows, Ahsoka will stream next year as it just started shooting. Season 3 of The Mandalorian will debut late this year or early next year. Also the future of Star Wars isn't in theaters, it's on Disney Plus. This also means trilogies will be a thing of the past, so Darth Ruin's trilogy is now officially dead. Single films look to be the norm with Patty Jenkins Rogue Squadron, and whatever films Taiki Waititi and Kevin Feige are doing.  If you're a fan of Disney Star Wars, it's great news for you, if you like the shows, it's good news. If you don't, well hopefully you have the movies you like on physical media and any books or comic books you like.

I expect major Black Series news at Anaheim, especially regarding Kenobi. Maybe we finally get a Grand Inquisitor to chase our Rebels and upcoming Kenobi figure inspired by the show. For the Vintage Collection, eh. Not much. Hopefully some pipeline reveals, one of which for both scales is Mandalorian Luke Skywalker, maybe a reveal of the VC since it was the 1st announced. If any VC vehicles are coming this year here is where we'll find out.

Kenobi Wednesdays start next week.i doubt the first one will be eventful as Anaheim is next weekend. Just be sure to check the main site (starwars.com) or your favorite online vendors next Wednesday for info on what's coming out.

With inflation being what it is ($30 for the new Obi-Wan/Anakin adult hardcover) I am going through my library (loosely worded, but I have a lot of Star Wars books) on what to read next. I've already re-read Kenobi, maybe this time the Dark Lord novel which has Vader hunting down Jedi just after Order 66, and obviously Legends. Maybe the Canon novels Master & Apprentice or Bloodlines. Don't know yet. But I also have a Bandai R2-D2 model scaled to 6 inch figures that I need to do, but for something that detailed it takes patience which is something I lack. Maybe pay someone to make it.

Usualmike on YouTube showed 3 new VC figures as seen on the VC Target exclusive Morak Boba Fett, and I like all 3, as they are from Kenobi! Obi-Wan, Inquisitor Reva and the original man in black Darth Vader are coming, with Reva & Obi-Wan appearing to be brand new sculpts and Vader looks to be a 3.75 Black Series ROTS Vader with a new helmet and gloves. Hasbro is probably pissed off but they had to know when these figures would start coming out in some stores (none where I live) that people would see this and start posting images online. That's the problem with being secretive, in time the secrets come out before you want them too. But it isn't like there is strong 3.75 inch competition as Hasbro has the sole possession of that. SH Figuarts and Bandai give Hasbro a run for the money on 6 inch toys but that's for another time!
