Best 3.75 inch Black Series/Honorable Mention/ 4th Worst

4th Worst Black Series: Leia Organa (Episode 7)

Okay. Where to begin with this figure?! Once again Hasbro gave us a Legacy character in an outfit they are in for only 20 seconds of screen time and this is how Leia is dressed when Rey goes off to find Luke. No blaster or other accessory comes with her either. But what makes this figure bad is the head sculpt. It looks NOTHING like Carrie Fisher! Now if Joan Crawford played Leia, yeah. That being said, this almost made my worst figure list. However you can make this a New Republic Senator Leia by putting on a younger Leia head (you may have to glue it on). For that, it dropped from 1st to 4th. So it fails upward.

Honorable Mention Best Black Series: Praetorian Guard

I am no fan of the sequels, but when they make great Star Wars toys, it should be acknowledged. This is a great figure! While there are other guards with different helmets and weapons, this more generic version is quite good. He can hold his single bladed staff quite well in a two-handed weapon grip. The articulation is smooth, as are the paint apps, they are clean. It's also possible to head swap with the figures I list below, and was one of the few in quantity Black Series figures that made it to the $4 clearance price.

Best Black Series: Emperor's Royal Guard

This was first released in the VC's original run, this figure originally had a cloth robe similar to the 1984 Kenner version. But that changed in 2017. This version came with a better cloth robe that draped much better than the VC version. Also, this figure kept the Legends inspired accessories: alternate helmet, shoulder guards and double bladed staff as seen in Crimson Empire. If you have the Carnor Jax and Kir Kanos 2 pack figures their heads can fit on this figure as well! He also comes with the standard helmet and Force Pike weapon the original Kenner version had. This narrowly beat out Darth Plagueis as he was easier to find, and if you took advantage of Wal Mart's $4 clearance sale, you probably got enough to have a dozen, 6 as seen escorting Palpy off the shuttle in ROTJ, and 6 in the alternate gear. Admittedly I still have a lot of them that remain unopened as potential custom fodder. While the new VC repack is essentially this figure with a photo real head of the bearded man beneath.
